Hey Jerry great video and tips. Grilled butternut squash is one of my favorites. I use lump charcoal but if you want to bump up the smokiness on a gas grill smoked paprika is the way to go. Plus It adds great color. Cheers Malcolm

Thanks! I will have to say yours was better because you had more stuff - and more cheese in it. I did make this again about a week later and added butter in the core and also the entire surface and it made a HUGE difference. Cheers.

Now prior to putting any seasoning or ingredients on it I stab the actual squash in the centre with a fork to make several holes so it’s all properly cooked.

Poking holes in it is a good method... it gives a little bit extra surface area for some seasonings or ingredients to get in and also allows slightly more airflow. I think it will improve on this recipe. Let me know how it goes!

About what size squash was that?

Question. I am attempting the same procedure but instead of pre-cooking whatever meat and vegetable on a pan I’m putting in to raw eggs with bacon strips inside and I put that on the gas barbeque and within that 45 minute span everything is cooked. What do you think?
@ChicagoGriller3 жыл бұрын
I've not tried putting raw bacon or eggs inside, but I suspect 45 min might be too much time for the bacon and eggs. Baked eggs and bacon probably only would take 20 min or so, but I don't know if the squash with it will slow down that cooking time as I've never tried that all together.

Yes laugh out loud the eggs are well overdone but it still works and everything is cooked I did it on 400° gas barbeque 50 minutes
