Also if you do butternut squash take two cups of very well done butternut squash and follow a traditional pumpkin pie recipe. If you don't care for the cloves spice use nutmeg 1\4 t. And naturally, cinnamon, ginger and the salt. But make sure you use can milk, or half and half , or cream . Not bottle milk or it will have a watery taste. Just like pumpkin.oh yes make sure to use a mixer at first to make the squash is creamy before adding the rest . Yummo

Made this dish and turned out great. Tasted almost like sweet potato. Didn't have allspice so I used nutmeg, cinnamon, and garlic salt with the brown sugar for the butter topping. Good job.👍

Feedback: I might have skinned the steaks, made them thinner, and after precooking, might have left them laying flat and poured the spice mixture over the top and put them back in the oven to Glaze.. maybe making the spice mixture a bit thicker... but overall, looks tasty... thanks for the idea...

Do you have a non-sweet alternative to this? Americans love putting sugar/sweet things on savoury dishes. Like the bacon and maple syrup thing, which in England is a sin. Would also love to see a herby Butternut squash recipe. I love the look of this dish, though. Looks tasty.
