Dr Charles uncovers a patient's dark obsession.
Season 2 Episode 18 "Lesson Learned"
Dr. Halstead makes quick and difficult decisions when tending to a patient who was also his mentor in medical school. Dr. Rhodes performs a risky surgery on a young boy as an alternative to amputating his arm. Meanwhile, Dr. Charles and Dr. Reese tend to a patient who denies having suicidal tendencies. Also, Maggie takes an aggressive route when training a new nursing student and Dr. Reese continues to mourn the loss Jason Wheeler.

Trunks I’m aware of this however I’m also aware that when someone ingests gasoline although it goes into the stomach when they exhale they exhale highly combustible fumes which the action of lighting a cigarette can also ignite the fumes

This episode has always hit hard with me, while I don't drink gasoline, I pull my hair out. It's a self harm disorder called trichotillomania. It's so similar, but so oddly different.

I had a BFRB before as well. For me it was dermatophagia and dermatillomania, a combination of excoriation and pica. The proper help does make it better though, and can even cure it in some people.

Not really if they where planning on doing compressions or some other treatment, he was unconscious and probably not breathing so the choking wouldn't have been an issue. No doubt should have cleared his airway, but ahwell creates a more dramatic look

Him talking about his nails hits hard. When I was little I did a similar thing with my skin. I’d cut off the skin as much as I could before it bled. It hurt, it was a mess...but I couldn’t understand why I did it. I wasn’t sad, I wasn’t anxious. I just felt normal and I just couldn’t help going back to another pair of scissors. To this day I still don’t understand how or why i started, I’m just lucky I didn’t get a bad infectiok

I know it’s a show but I’m glad dr Charles did report him to the FAA! Pilots everyday have the responsibility for 3-500+ lives behind them, it literally don’t matter if it cost you your license or life with being unemployed, marriage, or even your home.

If passing year 12 chemistry is something you use to establish superiority over others, you need to check yourself. Your achievements don't reign over those of others, especially when you make that assumption while lacking information on the whole picture. Evidently, passing year 12 chemistry didn't require foresight.

Dr. Charles is amazing, he knows what’s happening right off the bat and talks about personal experiences (true or not) to show the patients that he understands what they’re going through. Making the patients trust Dr. Charles and telling him they’re own story.

Yep. You learn that in school in the 2nd grade, if someone was vomiting and unresponsive you lay them on their side in a certain position so they don’t choke.

This show is so realistic. Gasoline is sometimes dyed red, and it was clearly the intention of the producers to depict a realistic world.

In a sense it is, I get what you mean on one hand and definitely the right thing was to take his license aways as he is a risk. At the same time if she ain't working and they don't have any other income I get why she would react like this, plus there is the embarrassment they would experience once they had to explain this to friends and family.

It’s one “breath” every 3 seconds with an established airway, if no airway is established it’s one “breath” every 5 seconds through a bag valve mask since they have confirmation of an established airway that pace is correct, however, she was compressing the bag far too much, you only squeeze it 1/2-2/3 down.

This is realistic. The main issue is that he was coughing up blood, which is life threatening. If he just collapsed randomly different story.
