A Man is rushed into the emergency room with what appears to be a loaded gun in the rectum.
Season 2 episode 12 "Mirror Mirror"
Dr. Manning and Dr. Charles tend to a patient whose daughter has similar symptoms with no physiological cause. Meanwhile, Dr. Choi and Jeff are put in a dangerous situation when they X-ray their patient and find out that he has a loaded gun up his rectum; Dr. Reese tries to connect with the patient, but fails. Dr. Halstead finds it distasteful when Dr. Stohl follows him around with a camera whilst filming a promotional spot for the hospital and Dr. Latham reveals to Dr. Rhodes that he has been recently diagnosed with Asperger syndrome.

The self harm really hit me. This show is making me consider psychiatry medicine more and more, as I was actually going to go into cardiothoracic surgery before I started Chicago Med. The psychiatry part of this show intrigues me so much. I feel I can really relate to some of the patients, and I’ve realized I know a lot more about psychiatry then I thought. I would love to get into practicing medicine at all, it’s just so interesting to me. Always keep fighting Edit March 2021 can I make it clear that it wasn’t me watching a fucking tv show that made me decide, “omg I wanna be a doctor!!” smh. I wanted to be a doctor since I was little but could never decide if I wanted to do surgery or not. I was so full of hope when I wrote this and it’s not the fucked up comments that hurt, it’s me seeing how goddamn hopeful I was. mental and physical illness has since broken me down and I can’t do pretty much anything physically demanding anymore (and when I say this, I mean a 10 minute shower could kill me one day without proper precautions. mentally demanding tasks are a WHOLE different problem lmfao) and it absolutely fucking sucks, but it’s alright now because I’ve learned to be happy, and that’s all that matters. maybe in the future I can become a doctor like I always wanted, but it’s definitely not something I’m counting on haha. I can be happy without it. they do always say dreams are meant to stay dreams, I suppose. okay, enough of sad, depressed me. y’all go live your best lives! I know it’s super fucking hard a lot of the time. I understand. i understand when everyone tells you it’ll get better in time and then suddenly it’s 6 years later and you’re like, “wow, not a single goddamn thing has changed.” things might not improve, but you’ll learn how to deal with it better as time goes on. I mean, hell, if I killed myself 6 years ago when symptoms first really started up then I would’ve never figured out what was wrong with me physically or mentally. when I tell you that knowing what specific mental illness you have helps so much, I mean it. but I also know what it’s like to see messages like this and lash out and be so goddamn mad at someone for thinking they know my life. I don’t know your life, but I know that if you hang on a little bit longer, you might make it out. things might get better. you might learn to handle things better. and I know it’s just a “might”, but that’s a hell of a lot better than it being nothing. what really amazes me about this comment section is that I was more mature than a lot of y’all. extremely disappointing, honestly. all I wanted to do was help out people who got hit close to home by this scene. and by the way, all I really meant was that this show captures psychiatry quite well. to me, at least, and it made me interested. that’s all. hahah, another funny thing I used to do when I was young was cut open pillows and stitch them up. I’d search up different suturing techniques and try them all out. I miss those days. lmfao then imagine 8yr old me watching an actual heart transplant and my mom walking in. that was the life right there, my man.
