I made this recently. A few improvements I would make. 1. Brown your chicken and sausage separately so you actually get a sear instead of poaching the chicken. 2. If you don’t have a Cajun seasoning blend add paprika along with the thyme and cayenne. 3. I added shrimp to mine too, that’s just how I do my jambalaya 4. Hit it with some Tabasco, adds that good spice and some brightness from the vinegar. 5. Taste and salt each time you add a new ingredient to the pot, it makes it easier to judge the right seasoning than trying to do it all at once. Great recipe my man.

I've always browned up my meat in two batches, to get that extra flavor and keep from it poaching. I also like to toast my rice in with the veggies once they are softened, for the same reason. I add jalapeno to mine, as well as the tabasco, but I don't use tomatoes. I prefer a Cajun jambalaya to a Creole, but as far as Creole? This recipe looks amazing.

Try caramelizing the onions for a few minutes first, that’s another great addition. Try adding some cayenne, since I don’t think he seasoned this at all. I’m sure his recipe is good, but there’s plenty of room for honing this recipe.

Serious good recipe! So simple! What I really appreciate about your cooking demonstration is you don't WASTE anything. My late Mama taught us not to waste and I see a lot of that on youtube cooking. You use your fingers, spatula, whatever to get every little bit when you add your ingredients. Most other "chefs" just dump each bowl of ingredients and don't bother to get it all. Hurts to watch all that waste. You on the other hand, do it right, no waste! Great recipe, great technique, and great demo, sign of a true down home cook!~

I followed your channel and this video to make it and it turned out beautifully. I served some to the kids who are nearly two and the other just over three not thinking they would like it. Have found recipes for both homemade Creole and Cajun seasoning. Also used was the original Lea & Perrin's Worcestershire sauce, because it's available anywhere here. And if you can't find a Dixie band just put on a Fats Domino LP. Thank you for this, much appreciated...

AB thanks so much for sharing your talents and gifts of the kitchen with an amateur like myself. I am a single mother of 3 loving heartbeats and this was my very first attempt at jambalaya. As my kids say, " it's bussing" lol and they loved it as well. Please keep cooking because you're bringing families together for a joyous experience in the kitchen. Memories are being made and I want to personally encourage you to continue the journey ❤️....God Bless!!!

AB, love the channel and everything you're doing! I made this the other night for my family and they loved it. Great taste and easy as you ALWAYS describe. This is about the 4th meal or yours (so far) that I've made and haven't been disappointed at all.

Finally a recipe without seafood! You mentioned having several boxes of broth on hand, can you make a video on what pantry items you should always have on hand?

Made this last weekend. The only thing I did extra was add 3-4 bay leaves. Incredible! I've been searching for a good Jambo recipe for a while and I finally found it. Thanks so much for sharing!

Smokin' & Grillin' wit AB my family really enjoyed this ❤️❤️ A Certified Hit with everybody ❤️ I did everything how you did, at first a little sketchy with the entire can of tomato paste, I began with only half the can, the flavor just didn’t hit how I wanted to 🤦🏽‍♀️ so add the rest of the can and BOOM BANG POW FLAVORS off the chain❗️❗️Thank You So Much❗️❗️
