Before the bacon up, did there need to be layer of seasoning or anything? I thought every single time you use, you have to do steps to preheat, season, spread oil, etc…. Or is that just first time I ask: I’m waiting on my supplies to come today by 8pm and I have everything else already. I want to season, and try something tonight and do it all the right way to preserve my gift from my wife for Father’s Day

One suggestion I do have here is to hit it with some green onion at the end to add a pop of color and some freshness. You can sauté the white part towards the end when you threw in the garlic and save the green part just to finish the rice - costs a buck and does add a little something to cut through that soy sauce and teriyaki. @@GrillThisSmokeThat American Hibachi chefs use butter because the griddles can’t reach the high of heat for real fried rice. True fried rice needs to be made with a outdoor high propane heat source like frying turkeys, vegetable oil, and a wok. This method is good for a griddle but it’s not “real fried rice” takes too long and not flash fried like it should be. Fried rice the griddle gets to clumpy and too moist.

Hears the thing with fried rice. While stationed in Korea in the Army they told me to set all the ingredients aside and yes day old fried rice. Yet buy a wok and an outdoor propane burner like for frying turkeys. This whole process should be VERY hot and quick. Seriously like 10 minutes. You don’t want the food just sitting there for a long time, gotta flash fry it. I tried fried rice on the blackstone and it tasted good but it’s not authentic. And people tend to use too much soy sauce and and sauces. Yet that’s just nitpicking since I had good people showing me the way. Yet I use a wok and my outdoor propane burner. I’m sure this still tasted good so no hate 🙂

You might consider looking at a few fried rice recipes for ingredients. Your cooking fats aren't traditional; normally only oil would be used in a wok.
