I made this tonight with boiled rice and it was absolutely fantastic! Thank you for yet another great recipe. I served it with poppadoms, red onion salad and mint raita too. My meat eating partner completely cleared his plate! 😊❤

I made this tonight with a little variation. I used sweet potatoes, garlic, beans, tomatoes and onions all grown on my allotment and added a little chard and kale. Lovely, thank you.

I've made this curry a few times now and it certainly is a winner. I have befriended an elderly couple and made this for them and they keep asking for it again and again. Thank you 😊

They are taking advantage of your good nature, get the ingredients, write down the instructions and tell them to cook it themselves and then show their family and friends how to make it..... Some people are just unbelievable.

@@johnmacaroni105 they’re just doing a nice thing for them. They may not mind and the elderly couple may not be able to make things like this due to physical or mental issues.

@johnmacaroni105 The couple who I make this beautiful curry for are both in their 80's. The lady has ME and her husband has cancer. It's really the least I can do and I am remunerated for the ingredients and my time. I also benefit from having two elders who bestow me with their wisdom and friendship 🙏🏼

Hello, we have a vegetarian night at least once a week and fancied something seasonal with sweet potato and found this. I cook many curries from scratch and I am a member of several curry groups. I have now made your above curry several times and have to say it is a very good recipe. I am retired now so not to worried about prep./cooking time so I soak and pressure cook my own chick peas. I add a scant teaspoon of extra hot chilli powder as I use mild Madras curry powder. Other than that I follow your recipe. My wife complements fly freely and it's a regular for us. It makes enough for us and my lunch next day, not only that enough for our neighbor who lives alone. Now he's making it!!

Yum have you done a recipe for boil rice pls.
@johnmacaroni105 Жыл бұрын
Just make sure you get the arsenic out the rice, a build up of arsenic in your body can make you quite ill, it can lead to 10% less brain activity and more.. Soak and clean rice 3 times, then bring to boil, then simmer for 5 minutes in a lot of water then drain, then repeat with a slight bit more water than rice, bring to boil then simmer for 6-7 minutes then let excess water steam out of rice for a few minutes, you should hopefully have pukka fluffy rice without arsenic in it. Do this in a frying pan.
@carrieannconnor60832 жыл бұрын
I would say far too much tomato. Also nice to add some lemon juice at the end it really brings all flavours together.

Hi, should the chickpea be already pressure cooked or something before adding it with sweet potatoes for this curry?
@Amateur_Pianist_472 Жыл бұрын
She added canned chickpeas. They’d need to be cooked already unless you can boil them in the curry for however long it takes to boil chickpeas.

If out the tin, then straight in the pot they go... Drain the water out first tho.

I have no idea why this recipe has such good reviews. I was in two minds to make it as the spice mix is different to any sweet potato and chickpea curry I have made before, I should have listened to myself. If I wanted a tomato soup recipe then this would be the one. There is no taste hardly but tomato and there is so much sauce. What a waste of ingredients 😞
@johnmacaroni105 Жыл бұрын
Just put the one tin of chop tomatoes in... This video is for a mainly British audience, a majority of Britons don't like too much spicey stuff, just an hint of spice, I'm a Briton and i love spices the hotter spicey the better and anything not too spicey is lame, it doesn't have that punch and kick to the head.. So add more spices and reduce the tomatoes to your liking.
