The “MAIN” issue is those who actually work and have “proof” of employment should take priority. Those collecting welfare are using this to pawn off their children. Thus making the wait even longer.

Daycare fees is already subsidised by the government for everyone - PR, work visa or student visa holders. However, some new daycares may not be subsidised yet bcoz government approval takes time, so it is a good idea to check with each daycare you apply for. New session is starting in Sep, so register to get a spot asap.

A daycare subsidy is not for non Canadians who are not even working. People who have to go to work to survive should be using this no one else
