The little girl in the black family is so intelligent. She understands her mom’s adult problems at her young age. She is very gifted in emotional intelligence.

The 8 year old's story makes me want to cry, the way her mom treats them is so sad, I understand why she is mad but its honestly heartbreaking.

Those two kids making fun of the sister and brother selling stuff to help their dad afford the new roof are rats.

I especially feel bad for the brother & sister, it seems their mom takes her anger out on them and there's no excuse for that. They didn't ask to be here, you had them, so don't take out your frustration on them.

Those kids helping their dad pay off a new washer and the roof. So sad but what beautiful children that man has.

My heart breaks hearing a child talk about how the worst part about not having money is not being able to buy food. 😞

Overall the documentary is heartwarming but... Those handcrafted things made by that grandma, it makes me feel full of joy and happiness, those special things they will remember for ever. I wish all of them the best

I live in Jamaica. Growing up, I always thought that I was poor and that my life was pretty much the worst. But watching this documentary has made me realize that I've been more privileged than a lot of persons out there. I was just too poor to afford other luxuries that children of my age had but was comfortable enough to never have to go bed hungry or have my parents depending on the government to keep us fed. I've even had the opportunity to go to a tertiary institution. Some of the children might not even make it to high school or anywhere past that. I was so ungrateful growing up but now I've realized I had all that I needed and that my parents, though they couldn't control how they were living, in a one bedroom board house, still ensured that I went through life as comfortable as possible. There are tears in my eyes right now for these children and their parents. I'm absolutley saddened by this awareness and hope that one day I will be okay enough to help a family in need.

Its sad that the Mom is so frustrated with her situation that she takes it out on the kids, and like babygirl said when her Mom yells she doesnt know how it makes them feel, yall are all in the same boat, those are your kids girl, dont make it harder on them. Hollering and screaming on top of no food is just too much to bare, especially for a child, you gotta give them soooooo much love, you gotta make them feel like nothing is wrong even when there is a problem, youre the parent. Mann smh
