This is causing me to remember so many hundreds of ideas for worlds, art, games, characters, etc that I've had before and never actually done anything with or never finished what I did do, so many unfinished blender projects and partly written down ideas never finished because I don't have enough time or motivation

Keep at it! I know it can be hard but getting started is the biggest hurdle. To quote Brad Stulberg: "A big misconception is that you need to be motivated to get rolling. You don't. Research: Motivation often FOLLOWS action, not the other way around. In Practice: You don't need to feel good to get going; you need to get going to give yourself a chance at feeling good". Try using your next block of free time to revisit a project and see how quickly you get sucked into it! Good luck and I know you'll create amazing things!

I get a lot of motivation to write after I discuss my writing with other people Either I get new ideas and I get excited about it or they get excited about the ideas I already have and that makes me excited to write it Also, excitement doesnt equal motivation, I just make myself write when I'm excited with a "if you want to share it you should write it down" mindset and then *after* starting to write I get motivated Motivators are diff for diff ppl so figure out yours! (pretty sure theres some kind of test for that on the internet or smt) Always keep at it though!

There is something... fascinating (I think?) about this visual. Nevermind the inspiration it creates, just seeing a simple robot and his miniature companions wandering about on his desk as he writes on scraps of parchment paper with a bottle of ink at the ready, the vast network of pipes and machinery in the background slightly obscured, and the brilliant light illuminating the otherwise empty realm of metal as if to give this strange building a new "life" after some time of some kind of "death"... It seems to want to tell about it's own history despite saying nothing at all.

That’s an interesting way of looking at it. For me I think of this as the robot wishing to imitate the behavior of a human. While it has comparably a much easier and efficient method of immortalizing its thoughts, in that of a computer, it still chooses to carry out the method of penning it down instead. Also the mass amounts of machinery in the background with no human in sight seems to indicate that there are none here, or rather they may not even exist anymore. This act serves to showcase the creation, in the form of the robot, wanting to remember its creator, the human, with this action serving as a memento to them. My headcanon for this being that lofi-girl had developed the robot and had long since passed away, with the robot now imitating her behavior so as to have something to remember her by.

Not that this isn't helpful to someone, possibly even myself, but I need something to KEEP the world building going. Starting it is easier for me. I have basically a deck of cards to draw from at any time, the real question is how to narrow it down. The other day I was just thinking that it felt like there was a lack of gothic inspired worlds and then I did a couple hours of research, and lo and behold, it might actually be theoretically possible for a blue dwarf to support radiotrophic mushrooms on a world that also had citrus plants. After that it becomes a question of theoretical plant splicing or selective fungus breeding to make a world that could stand alive florally under such a radioactive star. The biggest problem being that due to how the wavelengths of these radiations go, the species of fungus researched would make the colorscheme a muted olive in color. Which might be beautiful with a wider range of visual light than humans have. Another idea is just a musically centric world, culture, and reality. It appears often enough as a thematic level in videogames, but it's never explored in depth in any manner as some sort of natural evolution of Flora and fauna. But the potential it holds is massive simply on the basis of various elements and chemical compounds having its own unique vibrational wavelength. A percussive petunia would be interesting. Flora subdivided by not only phylum, genus, and species, but also by instrumental organization. There is aa world of potential in some of the most mundane things taken to extremes, but I have no staying power for building these worlds properly because I feel like I lack the tools to properly translate this entire vision of a world to others.

Here’s a thought; you could do an anthology series. From what you’ve said so far, you have the ideas, research capability, and a perspective that would do the world good by just expressing yourself. You don’t lack the vision at all. You’ve inspired the heck out of me with this comment alone, imagine what writing these ideas down and fleshing them out would do?

Dear friend. It has been some time since your post and my advice may come late, but I will offer you this. Take a long walk each day, somewhere with some life, or anywhere that separates your normal life and imagination. Breathe in deep what you 'feel' not what you write. A good story doesn't come from simply good ideas because most stories worth reading come from a place of passion, write what excites you not what others may find entertainment. The story and it's concepts will come out by themselves naturally, and let the story 'teach' you. Goodluck

this visual is genuinely amazing. i always have to avert my eyes from the paper every once in a while to catch a taleoid vigorously scribble on the paper or another one kick its legs, and the moments where talebot thinks for a moment, comes up with an idea, and writes it down quickly before he forgets it... its just such a peaceful writing environment. i honestly kind of want to live there too. what writer wouldn't?

"Art is ever such an interesting, yet over look process. In twisting strings and etching paper, we grasp that which we cannot hold, tangling thoughts and ideas into vague abstractions from which we construct form. And somewhere between, from when the first note is played till the last line is laid, it becomes. Seemingly greater than the sum total of it's parts, containing more than canvas, wood and ink. Something almost... real. I shall never know what or who possessed that amalgam of bolts, gears and vacuum tubes, neither the means it was constructed. Carefully crafted in all the ways that matter, oft brilliantly so, and yet complex in an outdated, almost old fashioned kind of way. As if the creator had not yet heard of semiconductors or silicon chips. It bespoke a genius that was far before its time, a kind that only came about rarely every hundred years of so. I'd have like to talked to that man... but given how dusty these walls are and how deep this cavern is, I'd say that's quite unlikely. I dare say I wouldn't reach the bottom in all the years left to my name, had I the courage to even attempt the feat. So I must cut my visit short, lest I lose the way out. Its still down there... some where, penning letters, tearing papers, seeking perfection where it doesn't exist. Unsurprisingly, it's strange obsession has left me with many questions. Does it dream? Does it feel? From where does it pull its ideas? And most importantly and perplexingly, is it alive? I suppose I'll never know."

Transcendentia makes me think of some sort of an endless white plain of existence where there's a constant eclipse in the sky, possibly either some strange three dimensional geometric shapes around or trees that have white trunks and black leaves. Maybe some creatures that are effectively the outline of a human but with no facial features of any kind, and just two black, glowing ovals for eyes. Maybe their heads (or bodies) split in two to reveal a creature beyond human comprehension that if stared at for long enough will make you walk towards it so that you might be consumed. Mechanical Resignation makes me think of a dystopian world where everyone shares similarities, ranging from exact facial features to full body proportions, and the only way to differentiate people is via clothing that higher ups wear. Those who rebel against the world laid out in front of them wear masks with defining features, each one different from the other. I'd imagine that they would style their hair in different ways as well, and make their own clothing as well. Their leader wears a mask that resembles that of an angels face, completely white with yellow eyes and cracks that are all around the mask. Nobody in this world is given a name unless they have some sort of importance, though those who rebel are named based on what they choose their mask to be.

I had to read something I was not enjoying at all, but now, after finding just ONE book I really liked and tons of interesting small tales, I feel like I should start to read more and more. Damn, i get that the music is the focus and that this is something to listen to in the background while writing or world building but the visuals are so good. I'd enjoy this with only the audio and doing just that, writing with this in the background, but the visuals are equally as good when tied with the audio. I mean it when I say this is truly amazing. The character design mixed with the clear skill for the craft that of which the maker of the visuals for this project has, helps immensely along side the astonishing music which doesn't intrude too much on your thought and instead helps support your writing/creation of the worlds you have bumbling about in your mind. You at Tale Foundry have created something wonderful, just as you always have been and will keep doing. I may not be an experienced writer or world builder but the art of creation and media has always inspired me. Whether that be video making by recording and post production. Creating visual art like drawings, paintings, animations, sculptures, photos, etc. Game creation and design. But most relevant probably being writing. Stories and fictional worlds have been so influential in my life, they form some of my favorite things and inspire me. All the examples of media are 1. Not all there is and it would be near impossible to state all there is. and 2. Inspires me, not only to do those things from the media I consume, like reading a good story for example making me want to write one of my own, but inspire me to do the other forms of media I mentioned and more. I may draw something in the setting of a story with the characters in the story or with characters I make myself or just something inspired by it and it's amazing. Every piece of media I consume plays a part in making me even more interested in media as a whole. The thing is when you get to see what was behind it, how it was made, the original concept, the journey along the way explored by the creators, is something truly inspiring and if said inspiration and motivation sparked by the media and the people behind it were gold, then we would have buildings made from the stuff all around. I know this has been a bit of a wall of text but I really mean what I say. Media makes up the world around us and while it can have it's downfalls it can still be wonderful when this concept of creating the ideas you have into something like an artwork, film, or book, is brought to the right people. Though when I say "the right people" I mean anyone with an idea, even if the base idea is cool or stupid, the way you as a creator actually make it can completely define what the concept actually is, and I guess that's the beauty of it. Sorry that this turned into a bit of a rant/vent on media and creation as a whole but good job Tale Foundry, for everything.
