I’m love your videos. Giving your son…down the road is so fun funny. The drill bit!!! Yep that late night shows. So handsome. ❤

Another great job - did my share of roofing as a carpenter before transitioning to furniture making here in Michigan. Got a kick out of your son staying up late night before a job. My son did that and partied all night & next morning we had roofing job - ole dad razed him all day - he never did that again-lol!

Another quality rebuild. Mad respect to the kid for the one-handed rope pull!!

Out of all the stupid contests I’ve seen on jobs over the years, this may be my new favorite. I honestly didn’t think it was possible. Lol

Great job as usual buddy. On corbels I also like to stick my level on the bottom of the bump out and true them up since that is what you see when looking up.

You do great work. It would be terrific if you were in Illinois! Previous owners tore my chimney below deck level and now I've got two fireplaces that serve no purpose. Why? I have no clue. They even used the fireplaces as a selling point.

Really need to work with someone like this. I've gotten calls for people wanting bandaids. But I really hate wrapping in mesh and plastering? How do you find customers willing to pay for rebuilds? Love the content. Keep it up

Typical father/son relationship. Stay out all night and Dad puts him to work. I'm sure Dad never did that either. lol Glad to see you're teaching him a trade that he can always use!

I certainly did it. The only difference is that I wasn't playing Pokémon Go with a bunch of dudes. 😜

@@chadvaillancourt 🤣 I hear that! Stay away from the girls until he gets an edumacation. lol You put a lot of effort in your work and it shows. You seem young to have all the knowledge you do and I glad to see you get your kids involved. That's pretty special!

I’ve been roofing 26 years and have never seen lead flashing on a chimney. Typically the chimney guys do a heavy duty tin counter flashing. And the roofers use painted mental dormer flashing/Step flashing then cut in riglet flashing. I need to try the lead flashing!

How late in the year will you do chimney repairs? Great work!

When it starts freezing hard over night, or freezing during the day and at night. In my opinion, the best temperatures, to get the best quality brickwork is 30°-60°F. It’s no fun working on frozen or snow covered roofs either, so I pack it up when we start getting snow that stays.

Do you mount your chimney brackets right to the roof? Im using the ultimate ridge hooks and not very satisfied with them. Great videos too man

Your channel is awesome . Can you please get Peyton a hard hat when he lifts material via the hoist directly above him ? They make some pretty nice ones these days like from Petzl .
@chadvaillancourt11 ай бұрын
I should make him wear my Petzl arborist helmet all day. Lol It definitely looks worse on camera than it really is. I wouldn't let him do it if I thought for a second he may get hurt. Even if that tong of bricks fell, he wouldn't be hit by anything. Thanks for your support!

We made sure on acid day to wear clothes previously on wash day. I won't kill you and talk about making the white in your eyes white, wow!

Looks like Peyton is dreaming of working in front of a monitor in an air-conditioned office with a lot of cute girls. He should try it to see if he likes it.

I always look forward to your comments, ever since you called my kids handicapped. 😆 He’ll actually outwork most grown men on a job-site, it’s something to see; and he’s been doing it for a couple years now. He definitely has special moments though. Lol

Is there a reason you dont use ridge hooks for your chimney staging? I dont use them myself but I just started going out on my own and havent accepted many jobs where chimney brackets are needed
@chadvaillancourt10 ай бұрын
I use ridge hooks when it's necessary, like on a metel roof. I just install them the easiest, most practical way for me.
@adampilarski20110 ай бұрын
@chadvaillancourt thank you for your reply. Your content has been very helpful for me, especially concerning flashing! Too bad I'm in CT, I'd work for you for free a few days just to learn more!

Hi do you have an email or other contact? I would appreciate some feedback and guidance about my chimney if you're ok with that.
