I too get emotional seeing those shows remind my life living through the Japan invasion of China in WW2 when I was 8 years old. We were starving and we almost sold my younger sister to stay alive but luckily we were saved when the bamboo plants surrounding our village flowered and we harvest the bamboo rice.

@@dxky5944My grandpa also told me of a story of how 2 Japanese were walking by It began in 1944 in Guangxi(i think Guilin) the Japanese operation “ichi go” where the in that month my grandpa was in, the Japanese breached the defense of Guilin, 2 of the Japanese saw my grandpa and his mom and dad and uncle, they saw them and stopped them, they look into their backpack and saw just regular tools, no guns, they let them go instead of killing them

@@vincentxu4709 Interesting! My mom turns 90 this year, so she was a small girl at that time, ~7y.o. She was in Fossan Canton area. That encounter luckily was not scary, if I remember correctly she said the Japanese soldiers (devils) actually smiled at her while walking by. Sometimes, I find it interesting and precious that history so important but long time ago, there are still people now who have personal experience of this history, amazing!

You obviously don't understand the current state of Chinese agriculture. China produces enough grain to feed all of China's people. Most of the grain that China imports is used for oil extraction and feed production. And because China's land is rented to each farmer for free, the average Chinese farmer cultivates very little land, resulting in most Chinese farmers' annual agricultural income being only about one-third of that of urban migrant workers. Therefore, there is actually a lot of land in the countryside that is idle and not cultivated, which is why there are almost no young people in rural China. If China protected agriculture like Japan and strictly controlled the import of agricultural products, I believe China's grain production could increase by at least 30%.
