I’m black and I find NOTHING OFFENSIVE with the last festival! It has nothing to do with black ppl, nothing to do with mocking us. It’s tradition! Please none black ppl stop speaking for us and just know not everyone is incredibly sensitive 😭🙏🏾

I’m white and I agree with you. The black people I know don’t get nearly as worked up about this kind of thing as certain types of white people do. It also reminds me of the on the street interviews of people in black communities being asked if they have IDs, or had trouble getting them. They ALL say something like, “Yes, of course I have an ID. That’s not a problem. Why should it be?”

Uhhh i think you’re having some misuse of the word “black-face”. It’s not simply painting your face black, it’s a degradatory act of mocking black people by exaggerating stereotypes like painting your skin pitch black, doing the blaccent and acting ridiculously. You may think it’s an unharmful clickbaity title, but with these days and age, with all those people who have literal no idea what is media literacy, you might give the non-Chinese wrong impression of what this cultural festival actually is.

Then the adults clicking on it will see it isn't and enjoy the cultural aspect and learn. The children will act offended. The West is full of immature adults. That isn't the Chinese's' problem. Besides, you can't even read the title you're so bent out of shape. It reads, "dark faces" not black-faced. Stop telling people what they should be thinking. Adults can figure it out on their own.
