Being in passive is really stupid. Rather than fighting a physical war, what China need is to win a public opinion war with the west which they fear most aka TikTok. In order to do this, China need to go on the offensive by renacting an "Indigenous Law" to protect indigenous people around the world. Using this law and history, China has the moral high ground to help support local indigenous people in Australia, Phillipines, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Canada and any countries before western colonization. For example, against Phillipines aggression in SCS, China should help support Sulu Sultan his historical rights to regain the whole Phillippines as the rightful owners. Fighting a grey war with Phillipines only make China the aggressor.
