Cloudy Sichuan is the same reason as British isles for pale skin in the region. If you look at Global Solar Atlas, it is matched pretty well. This also explains the pale skin distribution world wide.

I bet they were probabaly not like this some 10, 20 years ago cos even city streets were usually "muddy" and "dusty" back in the days here in Southwest be it Chengdu or Chongqing where I'm from 😂 Must say I'm kind of envious of younger generation kids who get to enjoy a much better living environment with well improved infrastructures in most parts of the country 😅

One of the merits of Xi's tenure, however people think of him on other issues. I've driven in some most remote rural regions in the mountains in northern China/ deeply south at the Vietnamese border and there had been always perfect road, despite it having it maybe just one lane. The flow of goods and people road brings is the foundation of any progress that may come.

As a Chengduer I really like watching your video of my hometown. You just bring me new perspectives of reviewing Chengdu from different aspects. Countryside is not so familiar to me but in your video it looks quite beautiful and idyllic. As I was in Chengdu, I never appreaciated my life there, after I went to a foreign country and work there, I have such a homesick. Your video just give me a strong nostalgic feeling. Thanks for showing us the beautiful parts of my hometown.

It can bring more profit than ordinary crops so there was a time when these trees were very popular in Chinese rural areas. But the government later found that these trees would damage soils as well as biodiversity. As a consequence, planting Eucalyptus has been strictly restricted to a smaller scale.
