I am just Japanese guy so maybe I don’t know. But, Seems like Chinese interest in the middle east would be directly related to belt and road initiative and thus mainly Pakistan and Iran. The proposed India-Saudi Arabia trade corridor and the formalization of relations between israel and Saudi Arabia and the potential to expand that trade through Israel into the mediterranean and eventually to Europe would directly be against Iranian and Chinese economic and political interests thus, even if from the shadows and indirectly for China, supporting Hamas seems to make sense. The destabilization in the region makes trade difficult and unlikely , and basically already destroyed the Israeli - Saudi peace talks as of now.

If Chinese money is coming in it's probably through Iran. I see this whole this as an Iranian reaction to the agreement made at the G20 which will effectively end the Belt and Road initiative. While this affects China, it hits Iran much harder in different ways. Iran had issues with both Israel and Saudi Arabia, and the issues with Saudi Arabia probably cut deeper because it involves SERIOUS conflict over a much longer period of time. The Belt and Road was going to put Iran in a position to where goods would move through them. With the EU and US moving manufacturing out of China and more into India, the trade route NOW goes through Saudi Arabia. SO at one time Iran is thinking they can squeeze the EU by controlling a major trade route. This evaporates and now the trade route is Saudi Arabia and through Israel. This has to cut at Iran VERY deep. So sure there could be Chinese money getting into Gaza, but this is really about Iran being butt hurt because they realize they lost the chance to control trade going to the EU along with making money off of it.

The Europe theater is Ukraine. The second is in Israel, hence the sucker punch out of Gaza with possible entries from Hizballah and Syria. The third would be Korea.

Dual position. He is also the president of the state. (Or "Chairman", but the Chinese word "主席" is quite compatible with "President". President evolved from Latin word praesidere, "prae-" means "at the front", "-sidere" means "to sit". And "主席" means "man taking the front seat" or "man holding a banquet".)

He does hold the title President of the State. The title President is ceremonial, signifying him as the head of the state. The title General Secretary is what gives him the practical political power. Kind of like how in the UK, the ceremonial head of the state is the King, while the Prime Minister exercises actual power. In China the two roles are assumed by one person, simple as that.

Not all system and countries are same. What works for you don't mean will work for other part of the world. About Iraq war, about Afghan war, about many other things. and those things proved over time as well. You need to realize that other part of world have different culture and different mindsets. And about China, they have to look for their best interest as a world superpower after US... just like US looks out for their best interest.
