China produces four times more STEM graduates than the United States does. Moreover, 41% of China's STEM graduates work in STEM fields, while only 20% of US STEM graduates do. As they close in on themselves close off their borders China has had the luxury of rising and falling few times in history The reason why there is that 7 volume 27 book series on what the Chinese invented first, most have no clue about And we think they just copy and can’t innovate The last time being in the 1500s China spent the better part of a millennia trading places with what is now India for top economy in the world By the 1430s it was by far the top economy and technological leader in the world But their emperor at the time started the slow process of closing in on itself closing off its borders This lead to 400 years of decline and then an eventual semi colonization of China for 100 more years. Even up to the 1980s… 88% of the population was in abject poverty, knee deep in the mud of their family rice paddy plot, or making a dollar a day on a factory floor The big difference is back then they were not running up these huge external sovereign debts like we are seeing with our own Western Countries Now they are back these days, as they lead the “world” in 37 of 44 critical technologies of the future But it took then it took 550 years for them to come back Makes me wonder if our countries could survive a 500 year decline I’m thinking… not the Americans that’s for sure

Not all that natural. China's success today is in large part due to the thousands of sanctions imposed by the US. The "debt" is just the sum of all federal untaxed dollars. It's a mythical figure that can be paid tomorrow because the figure is in their own currency (USD) and the US controls its own currency. If they they owed $35 trillion in Indian Rupees, then the debt would matter. African and central American countries owe their debts in dollars that's they suffer from hyper inflation periodically because the debt is in another denomination. So creating more of their own money to pay the IMF doesn't help.

The most disappointing aspect is that the US was on top of the world for such a long time, but it could not divert investment away from the defense industry and it's foreign policy was still primarily leading with covert operations. The problem is there is no ability to convince the ultra rich to commit to big projects like the Belt and Road Initiative. Latin America could of had their infrastructure upgraded for over 40 years. Instead, it has been regime change, and flooding the continent with weapons to keep them divided and fighting. This feedback loop just leads to more funding for defense due to fear of revenge. This type of foreign policy may give you short term gains, but in the long term. It's just creating more hateful sentiment. The tactics and strategies from war only work during war. If you use them after the war is over, you are just making new enemies and keeping environment into a constant state of warfare.
@mandrews12453 ай бұрын
What made USA strong was wars. That is what made them successful and they continued that path. People were making money and had a good lifestyle. Why change what is working? But just as Empire's before them, they are so caught up in their "supremacy" they fail to notice what is happening elsewhere. They conspired to collapse the Soviet Union and then assumed Russia was also just a gas station. For decades USA has plotted to take over Russia and capture its wealth. Thinking that would be easy, like USSR, and trained Ukraine soldiers and supplied weapons, expecting Russia to collapse within weeks. That has not happened so USA is turning the "war" over to Europe, so US can take on China. China knows everything about USA & EU, while they know little about China. Their ignorance is going to bring down the US and it will be just another Empire which lasted 100 years. US has no skill in learning how to share their "sandbox" for the betterment of the world. They are like a spoilt child always wanting their own way. If they are lucky they may only get smacked on the bottom, and not thrown out of the house!

The people from the young countries try to erase the history of scientific and technological contributions from old civilizations. Therefore, they underestimate old civilizations' scientific and technological abilities that were buried by invasions and wars. I suggest people from young countries try to learn the history of old civilizations starting from Mesopotamia. Then, they will find out how much they don't know about the human history.

It’s nice to proclaim that India is this or that , but one needs to face some hard realities in today’s world where good governance with clear national objectives & above all, the peoples’ cooperation needed to achieve those desired objectives , becomes the decisive factor on whether the nation becomes successful or not.! Don’t count the chicks before they r hatched, becomes a simple , yet practical rule of the thumb in assessing the socioeconomic achievements of a society.! China is among those few nations on the list so far.!

China an industrious hard working nation, had everything handed over by the greediest and richest in the West who wanted their extra 20 cents profit, driving their own economy in the sewer! US has been saying for years their homeless number is around 650,000. What they don't mention that N.Y. alone has over 1 million, so do other state capitals as in 10 to 15 only 1 homeless person may turn to charities for a bed to sleep in! Around 150 million live in poverty even the ones fortunate enough to work at 1977 wages rat from $7.25 to $15 per, hour working 100 hour weeks mostly for rent and food stamps for food, without medical benefits!

Chinese govt has 10 year plans and 15 year plans that do not change and therefore required resources continue to pour into its development like 5.5G , high speed rail , drone and robotic tech , batteries , commercial airplanes , shipbuilding , EVs etc. It is a long term commitment. Now they will pour extensive expertise and resources into chips manufacturing. Automakers from around the world did not think much of China announcing EV plans in 2004, today they are the world leaders and cheaper by 25-35% than anyone else. Now those automakers are shivering with fear of coming layoffs and factory shutdowns.

China’s leadership, whilst being communist, has been constant for decades - their foundation to increased dominance. Meanwhile, the US (and others in the West) is a democracy and changes its trousers every four years (or 8) meaning there is no consistency and each party-change leads to undoing the other’s policies. This is the foundation of their demise in dominance. China also has a decent work ethic that isn’t seen is the lazy West.
