I really like your tests of China-Tools and sometimes I find these tools from other brands (no brands/imitations) with really low quality. Just came across your test of this jig and looked for it on Lazada, as I am in Thailand. Here it costs just about 1600 THB which is about 42 to 43 USD right now what makes it even more interesting for me. From all shown pictures it looks absolutely original and of good quality. And it also includes 2 of the drill bits. Lets wait and see if it is the same and the quality is as good as in your test.

A great video Dennis, as usual, following which I asked for this pocket hole jig as a Christmas present. I unboxed it yesterday, and found parts in the package whose purpose isn't shown anywhere in the instructions, nor in your video. There are two right angled brackets made from the same black anodised aluminium as the pocket hole jig. Each is 12mm thick, and on the outside measurement the sides are 34mm and 37.5mm, and the width 28mm. There is a hole through each bracket, perfectly machined to accept rods (below) with a screw to secure the rod in place. On one side is a stainless steel plate secured by 2 screws, one as a pivot, the other through a circular slot, enabling the plate to be swivelled and set at an angle to the bracket. The rods are 6 beautifully machined stainless steel rods, each 6mm diameter and 200mm overall length, with an M3.5 x 8mm male thread on the end, and a corresponding female thread on the other end. They are most likely intended to be screwed together into one long rod. I have no idea what the purpose of any of these components is, and suspect they were included in the package by mistake, but if anybody reading this has any idea what they may be, please let me know. I have, of course, photos of them, but I can’t include photos here, unless anybody knows how I can do that? Thank you!

Hi Dennis, thank you for this in-depth review. I startet with a wolfcraft pocket-hole-jig, which was my entry to this topic. The Jig I would recommend most is the Armor Tool jig, which has an auto adjust for the bit and works really well. Armor tool also has color coded screws which makes organization easier. I didn't like the Kreg 720 - I felt like it had parts that didn't fit together well, like the wings. I think you basically have to build a platform for it and that shouldn't be necessary. If I had more patience I might have got it working, but because it was on back order for a very long time originally. By the time it arrived I already had the Armor Tool and also the Massca jig (another solid jig) and I didn't feel it was worth it and I donated it.

Hey Dennis my friend.. I saw ur video on the site Banggood and I bought this brilliant and very beautifully made Pocket Hole Jig. It's a fantastic bit of kit. Now I still need to make a holding piece for it but I will get down to that soon. I have 12 days off for Xmas so those 12 days will give me time to build my workbench finally and I will make a nice piece from MDF for this. Unfortunately I cannot get Black MDF here atm so ordinary MDF will have to do. Thanks for the inspiration bro. Now onto some other tools u gave me a heads up on. Those lovely Hold down clamps with the 19/20mm dog hole shafts are a wonderful clamp mate. They are so well made too but I also went for these very small grey squares as well pal.. They are so precise as well which for the price I couldn't believe it. I watch ur China Tools video all the time bcos u give great advice so I wanted to drop a line wisjing u a very Merry Xmas and also I wish u every success in 2023. Love the new workshop u built a while back too btw. Oh one kore thing. The Atomstack Laser engraver u reviewed was the one I defo tried to get but they wouldn't ship it from America and China is out of stock now for months. That's a real shame bcos everybody is buying them up like wildfire atm. I tried to get a different brand with similar characteristics but they have made me wait for over a month now with still no sign of it beig shipped. It's a shame bcos I wanted it to do something for family this Xmas. However I think I will go back again and buy the Atomstack u reviewed for my Niece and her mum next year bcos it's a brilliant piece of kit for the price. I'm about to venture into the world of building my own CNC Router machine this next few weeks and I'm hoping it helps me take my woodworking to new heights mate. I'm no expert with the software but hearing u say it is possible to become proficient at it I am sold my bro.. TAKE CARE AND HAVE A GREAT XMASS DENNIS AND THE SAME TO ALL IN THIS COMMENT SECTION.. I bought the Enjoywood pocket hole jig a few days ago, I already own kreg mini for many years. The Enjoywood is very well constructed, but the drill bit is a total junk. It didn't manage to drill a single hole. You will have to buy the Kreg drill bit if you really want to enjoy this Jig. The toggle clamp is very basic and it is very difficult to find the correct setting for the wood thickness. If you want to improve this Jig you will need to buy a Bessey self adjusting toggle clamp + Kreg drill bit, this will set total price very close to the Kreg 720 which is far superior.
@Cenedd2 жыл бұрын
That looks very much like a variation of Trend's Pro pocket hole jig. The clamping lever is like a car handbrake. Be warned though, that if you hold it like a handbrake, as the clamp snaps shut it can crush your fingers between the handle and the bushing mount beneath it. I drilled out the rivets and made a longer handle from steel flat bar which prevents this. It's a couple of drilled holes and some filing - the rubber grip pulls off and slides onto the new handle. Worth the time to avoid an inconvenient injury.

I just bought this, its very well made, especially for this price, and I agree about the drill depth collar, according to the scale its set way too high, the drill should be lowered close to the base, so more threads of pocket hole screw are sink into the other piece of wood, the drill is also not very good, it should be upgraded immediately, other than that im very pleased with my purchase and would reccomend it.

@HookedonWood2 жыл бұрын
Hi, You are right. Kreg also does some shortcuts with their height or depth adjustments. So, I tested this, and you are right that there is some difference. But it did not make it into my videos because, in the end, it does not matter. When it is a bit off center, it does not influence the strength of the connection, nor do you see it. So, just guess in between. When you make two holes, one at 38 and one at 44, you will see that it is only a small difference where the screw leaves the wood. More important is the depth of the drill bit. I would do this the way I showed in the video. Thanks for your comment.

I would buy the 720, not the Pro version. That is a very nice machine. At the other side, working with both of them Is perhaps different but not in a way one is much more convenient. Better immediately buy the more expensive Kreg and avoid the grief. Because in the end, you will find out it doesn't work well and end up buying the Kreg as well.

My Kreg 720 does also not go all the way to. In fact the busxhing is as long. My older Kreg did. But the new ones not anymore. It now act as a zero clearance.

@@HookedonWood I see. Mine does too.. Meaning older model. Basically the bushing needs to be as long as possible. On the Foreman model. The bushing is slanted. Expensive though.

@@ramonching7772 , But I agree with you. At my Kreg review, I mentioned this as a sort of shortcoming, or at least a shame they leave it out. However, It makes better holes than my older Kreg and does everything right. So, I think the most important part of keeping it straight is the upper side.

Bedankt en keep up the good work!

This item would cost me around €240 from ebay including P&P and import duties delivered to Ireland - I'm sure it is as good as you say it is but way over my budget....!
