Just so good. Talking about the craft of what we do. Well done.

My parents retired and relocated from Long Island, New York to the Eastern shores of Virginia about a 50 minute drive south from where you filmed this video. He and my mom passed away in the last few years, I made the trip to the Eastern shores several times a year for many years while they were alive and now I make the trip once a year to pay my respect as they are in the cemetery in Cape Charles . During my trip down I spent some time at the National wildlife refuge to photograph the different birds and wildlife, this past year 2023, was the first time that I did not see any of the wild horses but the variety of birds was amazing, this year I plain on going some time in September, you really captured the spirit of the area well, just wonder if you stayed in the park or outside of the park while you filmed this video.

Doug, what I find SO MAGICAL about your videos is that, as a child, I used to read books set in the very same places where you today do many of your videos. Misty of Chincoteague. Green Grass of Wyoming. My Side of The Mountains which was set in the Catskills. Not only does it bring your videos so close but it brings the books of my childhood so much closer. I'm South African.

I enjoyed every minute of your video although I shoot videography with a Panny MFT, also on occasion, photos, but your explanation of what ISO and other helpful hints still works for me. Thank you for another great episode, this time on Chincoteague.

I've never seen any European wading birds swim, especially a water rail (Rallus aquaticud), it is a very shy bird that clings to the margins. We officially have six species of deer in the U.K. but only red and roe are indigenous with sika being one of those introduced in the last 150 years. My long lens is the Sigma 150-600 Sport, which is a decent lens in its range but will never compare to any prime which has to be my next purchase. Another excellent video with great tips, wonderful shots and some brilliant insight into natural history.

Wonderful photos. Are you sure that isn't a clapper rail?

Hey Doug, I watch all of your vid & they are fabulous... NO doubt in that. Just few things are in my mind which i would like to share with you... 1) When you show preview of your clicked shots please share Exif Data.. (F stop/ Shutter Speed, ISO, focal distance etc) along / under the preview shot. 2) Many of your shots appear yellowish or more saturated in yellow tone when the video recording looks much better. I understand that it happens because of Kelvin Values above 5800 or 6000+... then do you post process it more saturated or adding more yellow in post processing software ? 3) How much cropping you do when you are on a DX format & on Full Frame. Do you use a DSLR for recording this videos every time ? I will be very happy to hear your views for above points. Thanx, Best Wishes & Regards,

That place reminds me of the southern Edwin b Forsythe wild life refuge.
