I like my jamo s810 sounds really tight and very musical. It's not boomy at all in fact, I would compare it more to a sealed sub than a ported one. It doesn't fill a room with bass pressure like larger box enclosure, but it will play all the low notes that you might have been missing otherwise.

@corkydukeII58983 жыл бұрын
@@Benke01 Not really. My guess is, if you were to buy a 'new' 810 sub now, it would almost certainly contain the 'revised' amp, since they've (Jamo) identified the defect more than a yr ago (maybe 2 yrs by now....). I'd check with the supplier/retailer 1st before purchasing it (well, if it's from Amazon, I guess you really can't check....but if buying from Crutchfield they would probably clue you in with accurate info...)

Don't those speakers have 12" woofers? If so I doubt this sub will make a huge difference. It would really depend on how low the JBL speakers go. This sub really starts producing bass at around 40hz. You Could always order it form amazon and return if it doesn't.

@TheFrugalAudiophile Жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on your budget? The S 810 is great at is price point, but there are certainly better compact subs on the market. Of course, you will end up paying more. The Monoprice THX 8" sub is a better sub and it can actually be found on sale for about the same price as the Jamo. It's not as pretty as the Jamo, but has better performance. That would be the route I would in an apt. SVS has their Micro 3000 that I've heard a lot of good things about. I'm sure it is a lot better than the the S 810 or Monoprice, but it cost quite a bit more. Again, it all depends on your budget.

@TheFrugalAudiophile3 жыл бұрын
To begin, it would be tricky to connect the S810 to our receiver for specific channel duties as it only has as single RCA input. You would need speaker level inputs to do this. If your receiver has RCA pre-outs it is conceivable that it could but done, but it would be a challenge. Secondly, in all honesty, there is not need ot do this anyway. Bass that is under 100Hz is nearly impossible to locate. This is why we can set the crossover on our receivers to 80, 90 and even 100Hz without being able to locate the bass. Rob and Tom actually explain this better in thier recent episode of AV Rant. Check out the 1:35:50 time code of episode 783 for a fuller discussion of crossovers and locatable bass. Basically, set your crossover to 80Hz and don't worry about it.. Unless you have tiny speakers that don't go that low, then I would set the crossover to match thier lowest -3db frequency. I have my crossover set at 120Hz on my bedroom receiver I can't locate the bass for the life of me! Hopefully that helps and thanks for watching! If you nave any further questions please let me know.

I have one more question. It is beneficial for me to order from the USA. But in the USA the voltage standard is different, it works at 110 volts. Will it run 220 volts, is it rated for 220 volts? Will it go bad?
@TheFrugalAudiophile3 жыл бұрын
The AC input says it can handle 100-240V and 50-60hz so I think you will be fine as long as you can find the right cable. The AC inlet on the sub is an IEC figure eight style connector. Also, the included power cable is at a right angle on the end that plugs into the sub as I noted in this video. You will either need to find a cable like this with an end that works where you live or an adapter to use on the end that goes in the wall. Hope that helps!
