Your heater would be better protected from overheat damage to the ECU if you were connected to that battery and had a trickle charger maintaining the battery. Any interruption of this power supply will prevent your heater from cooling itself before shutting down.

The amps you need to worry about for the glow plug could damage over time

Thanks for your comment, the 360 PSU is 16.5 amps.. that's more than enough, I've had one running for the last 2 years on my other diesel heater without problems.

Would a PlayStation power cord work?

@@CALtheSPAR im pretty sure the one used in the video shows 14amps i didnt know what to make of the output text but assuming its says 175w, then the 14amps would be correct if it were 125w then it would be 10amps either way, it would be easy to figure out just how much amps the glow plug is pulling just by using an amp meter or look at the listing and it appears that most of them require 16amps, im assuming its only for the initial startup

@@dondadaherb4412 the power supply would need a minimum requirement of outputting 200w and 250w to not have it at 100% duty

@@rookm13 no start up is about 10a on all the diesel heaters from china but better to have a little more room like 15 or 16a and the supply measures 11.8v with no load so that will be somewhat less with a load i think like 11.5v or less i dont like computer games bu i did pick up an old x box 360 and i think it says 135w so its about 11.5 a? a bit too close to the 10a needed but its also possible that a chinese diesel heater has a wider voltage range as it can also run on 24v with no modifications but he says its still working 2 years later but i think its a better idea to use an old PC supply as its got more headroom and a cooling fan i took one from a mini pc it smaller than a big pc supply but still it has 16a
