I have put some high temperature insulation underneath the mother board , in order to prevent some of the heat transfer. Am hoping this will extend the mother boards life span .by keeping its temperature down.

Looking at your other videos Andy I can see you have a least one other heater than the one being shown in this video. As I’ve previously mentioned about the switch module not working for my Hcalory heater, I wonder if you would be interested in doing a test on your other heater with the switch module to see if the switch works with it, if it doesn’t, or if it does something different to your other heater, put a video out to us. Totally enjoy watching your videos, more of the same please.

1:43 "red to red black to black "....and blue to bits 😆 Nice one Andy, Can I just point out that although you may get ~7 seconds in your demo that it might go off fairly instantly when the power supply is under load or running conditions. Reason for this is the capacitors in the unit storing energy, however, when under load they can discharge within a second or so. It would be interesting to see this in operation with the heater running. easy way to check is with an incandescent car light bulb or a car heater fan etc.

This is true. The heater needs enough power to operate the glow-plug for a period during shut-down. Don't rely on the little bit of charge left in the power supply!

Andy, is it possible for you to demonstrate your switch module with this new power supply please? When you used your switch module in your last video and you turned the mains power off your heater went from setting two to setting three I think it was? With this new power supply unit and it’s power down delay I’m guessing your heater would stay on setting two rather jumping to setting three, this would perfectly demonstrate the split second of change over from mains to battery would have no affect on your heater because of the power down delay within the power supply unit.

I'm not convinced 10A is enough, i prefer the Xbox 360 203w power supply that gives 16.5A. Has integral fan, more robust and cheaper, normally £10 on the well-known auction site. Admittingly you have to make up the output connections, but it's only soldering wire together.

yes, i was suprised that these work well. my friend has been using one for months with his heater with no trouble. i just wanted to show people who are not good with eclectics, an easy way of giving 12v. cheers andy

Hi Andy, do you recommend the large Air inlet pipe as well as smaller air inlet pipe both to be ducted outside for one of these heaters? I'm all ready to set one of these up in my own garage and wondered whats best as I have read conflicting answers on the Internet. Great videos by the way.👍

i have had lots of comments on this. everyone is saying pull the large air intake from inside the house (warm air) and the small air intake from outside (cooler air) thanks for looking in my friend cheers andy

The only difference in my set up compared to yours is that I'm not intending using this to heat my home but rather a small garage sized woodworking workshop. My concerns were if using the air inside to feed the large pipe then there is the possibility of it pulling in frequent dust from around the workshop that's why I was thinking of ducting the large pipe to outside to avoid this. Obviously it would mean cutting a hole through the wall to do this, which I would have rather avoided if it was going to be detrimental to the working efficiency of the heater by pulling in moist air from the outside. Any thoughts from yourself or anyone else reading this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Andy, after watching your clip on the power supply I went and bought the same . When I go to start my heater up it goes from 12v to 9v then shuts down says a battery warning ❗️ any idea what’s up please I might be missing something really simple but important. Many thanks Simon

hello simon, your heater may be wanting a little more power on startup? not sure. mine is running nicely with this and my friends does too. 10amps is borderline enough, yours might be a little more hungry? could you send it back and get the other type that i use? let me know if i can help, cheers andy

I don't think you have 7 seconds, when the heater is running. It wil consum the power a lot faster when the heater is running.
