We have these in Northern Ireland, UK. You don't see them very ofen but they are in some markets. They're called 'CrispStix' here (because they're like crisps... on a stick...). They're overpriced and just novelty really. I bought one when I first saw it (around 2008) and I wasn't really impressed... At least they had a lot of flavours, even if they were a bit gross. I remember Pizza flavour, Blue Cheese flavour, and gummy bear flavour (wtf) aswell as the ones shown in your video. I haven't actually seen the stall for maybe 2 years but I don't really go to outdoor markets anyway anymore. I really don't know why it says it's chinese, you get them everywhere. I thought it was a local Northern Irish guy that came up with it...
@DanSetoChineseCanadianRootsTV10 жыл бұрын
It's great to hear you hear that you have this snack in your region. Also that it's known 'CrispStix' in your area. It's probably wrong for me to assume it's a Chinese snack, but I discovered it at a Chinese night market. I'm not making a claim that it is a Chinese invention. Thanks for checking out my video.
@Yamezzzz10 жыл бұрын
Dan Seto Haha it would be weird if it was Chinese though because it's potatoes xD china isn't known for potatoes, they're more rice. Britain and Ireland are the famous potato eaters xD but still, i don't know :p

Ichlas Cahya Binengkas They do probably do make the potato tornado machine in China. I saw a few vendors selling this snack at different places. Thanks for viewing my video.

Here I was thinking this was Chinese street food in CHINA and then I see a white sort of Chinese guy wearing Aropstile shirt and wondered .. well maybe.. few seconds later the foul mouthed Canadian youth tough guys walk by jabbering on and then it's obvious this is in Canada. I should of scroll down in the description.

I hope it didn't throw you off too much. I had the surprise when I saw the drill used to cut the potato. Thanks for checking out my video on Potato Tornado Street Food.
