I'm a huge fan of Regina Spektor, but Chip Taylor's version is absolutely incredible. Whoever picks music for Sex Education is a wizard.
@merdufer5 жыл бұрын
That's one of the unique charms of Regina. Many of her songs are written in the "voice" of an old man. Get an old male folk singer to sing "Sailor Song", "Us", "Ode to Divorce", "Après Moi", and few would notice a 20-25 year old short adorable woman wrote it.

Daydreg Lol, why you gotta lie? We both know that things don’t always get better when you’re older. There’s a reason why suicide rates are at the highest they’ve been in 28 years for adults and that’s because life is never gets better. It’s the human condition and you know what? Life will beat you down to a pulp if you let it. That’s why you gotta stand by your two feet and push through a wall when you hit it. Doesn’t mean that there won’t be more walls after but sometimes life lets up a bit. That’s what makes life awesome. It’s the tragedy of living but the purest of gifts.

This is how it works It feels a little worse Than when we drove our hearse Right through that screaming crowd While laughing up a storm Until we were just bone Until it got so warm That none of us could sleep And all the Styrofoam Began to melt away We tried to find some worms To aid in the decay But none of them were home Inside their catacomb A million ancient bees Began to sting our knees While we were on our knees Praying that disease Would leave the ones we love And never come again On the radio We heard November Rain That solo's really long But it's a pretty song We listened to it twice 'Cause the DJ was asleep This is how it works You're young until you're not You love until you don't You try until you can't You laugh until you cry You cry until you laugh And everyone must breathe Until their dying breath No, this is how it works You peer inside yourself You take the things you like And try to love the things you took And then you take that love you made And stick it into some Someone else's heart Pumping someone else's blood And walking arm in arm You hope it don't get harmed But even if it does You'll just do it all again And on the radio You hear November Rain That solo's awful long But it's a good refrain You listen to it twice 'Cause the DJ is asleep On the radio TRADUCIDA: Así es como funciona.

Hey, you may have found out in the time since you posted, but Regina Spektor wrote this over ten years ago. Her version is more pop and less lofi, but I think it carries the same, if not more emotion. The strings in this are a bit much... a little overly sentimental. I think it's more melancholy in Spektor's version.

Indubitably one of the best Netflix shows, if not one of the greatest TV shows of all time. Easily memorable. Simple yet complex. Seamless in creating a compelling narrative for EVERY character and having it fit with the story to near perfection. No show, NO show can execute the amount of profound character developments this show brings this well. Some characters don't change at all, but care is still poured into them in order to be consistent and create a larger effect on the audience. I was especially surprised by Remi as a character in season 2, who struggles to change yet his consistent narrative is one you could appreciate. Overall, you can immediately appreciate the amount of heart and effort that when in this ambitious endeavor. It's monumental to see the number of characters, major and minor alike, grow in a SINGLE, eight episode show. It's unlike I've ever seen in TV at all. Nearly flawless. Although I'm barely a TV enthusiast or expert, it'll be difficult to find another piece of medium that resonates so distinctly with me. I feel like I could ramble on and on about the characters and how every scene they're in conveys a new aspect about their arc.

Usually it's easy to find comments like yours on things that are popular, and usually they irritate me, as they're usually done from an inexperienced perspective... But I just have to agree with what you wrote. Very small amount of time and such big development. Not just that, but they went out of their way to make songs just for the series and remade songs to fit better. They put a lot of effort in, and it does show. Above all else, I think it's a show that absolutely everybody, from 15 to 60, could still enjoy. It gives everybody a 'relate-able' character, and not one that is unrealistic or dramatised, they are all very real, very relate-able, and executed perfectly. Loved it.

Such perfect lines to describe life!! I feel like i got a bit more wiser with just those lines. "This is how it works You're young until you're not You love until you don't You try until you can't You laugh until you cry You cry until you laugh And everyone must breathe Until their dying breath."

God, this goes so incredibly with the feeling the events of the season's end leaves you with... Excellently executed. Truly incredible... What a masterpiece of a show. I'm so deeply impressed with how precisely it hits the mark with appreciating the full human experience. It doesn't shy away from the shit... And we need more stories like that. Raw, open examples of things that happen on a daily basis, that affect everyone so deeply, without sugarcoating or dimming anything down. Humanity is unbelievable pain and exquisite elation, and this show does nothing if not perfectly display that depth while acknowledging surface-level interactions as people go about their lives, hiding. It takes itself exactly as seriously as it should.

I think that: 1) 1st season is the fundament of the story 2) 2nd season a crescendo 3) 3rd season will be a climax

This is how it works It feels a little worse Than when we drove our hearse Right through that screaming crowd While laughing up a storm Until we were just bone Until it got so warm That none of us could sleep And all the styrofoam Began to melt away And we tried to find some worms To aid in the decay But none of them were home Inside their catacomb A million ancient bees Began to sting our knees While we were on our knees Praying that disease Would leave the ones we love And never come again And on the radio We heard "November Rain" That solo's really long But it's a pretty song We listened to it twice 'Cause the DJ was asleep He was asleep No, this is how it works You're young until you're not And you love until you don't And you try until you can't You laugh until you cry And you cry until you laugh And everyone must breathe Until their dying breath No, this is how it works You peer inside yourself You take the things you like And try to love the things you took Then you take that love you made And you stick it into Someone else's heart Pumping someone else's blood And walking arm in arm You hope that don't get harmed But even if it does You'll just do it all again And on the radio We hear "November Rain" And that solo's awfully long But it is a good refrain We listen to it twice 'Cause the DJ is asleep He is asleep On the radio The DJ is asleep He is asleep

Chip Taylor to Regina Spektor is the same as Johnny Cash to Nine Inch Nails. The original is amazing, but somehow they manage to make it even better and make you cry your eyes out.
