He is so god damn good live. Saw him a couple weeks ago at the Turf Club in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was kind enough to give us a photo at the bar with him as well before the show. Thank you Mr. Whitmore, keep that golden sound coming, we love it!

Thrilled to hear he's touring! Is he doing his solo work?

@@chipdfc he was on stage solo with his guitar/banjo and kick drum but he had an opener in the form of a duo, I forget their name but they were from Missouri and they were ok.

WEW is one of the most God gifted performers I've ever had the pleasure of seeing live and actually meeting. Before and even after his performance in Fort Collins Colorado that night he was working his way through the crowd just taking in the evening. Got to have about a five minute conversation with him and his wife. Still my favorite music memory!

I was fortunate enough to see him open for Lucero several years ago, first kick drum caught my attention. Everything that followed made him my favorite. Thank you for commenting, I'm jealous you got to talk to him.

@@chipdfc he's super approachable. Next time you see him live keep an eye on the crowd because he'll wander through from time to time. Though he told me he wanted to keep a really low profile as he went through the crowd so as not to take away from whoever was currently on stage. If I remember correctly Esme Patterson was playing while he was out and about. It was cool because I asked him if he'd play "Lift my Jug" somewhere in the set list.... Opening song and he says... "Hey I had a request for some Hub Cale..." And he started hitting that banjo and played Hub Cale in an extended five minute version. I was so impressed to say the least.

My grandma is from Montrose and was telling a story about this man, she didn’t know there was a song about him. She said the whole town got money together when he died to get him a gravestone ❤️❤️✌🏻
