why this video is better than all the other tutorials. because he’s straight to the point and he shows you an example instead of talking for 30 minutes and then shooting a ball. He is clear, and to the point. good video

Albert Einstein said no matter how complicated the subject, you only truly understand it if you can explain it to a 5-year old. Logan definitely succeeded here. I was looking for a simple contrast between these two techniques, and this is a great explanation and demo of the two different shots. Well done, thanks a lot!

I have been searching for this for awhile. Loud and clear. Best explanation on this subject on KZbin so far.

Here's a pointer to clarify a part of your instruction: explain why we hit chip shots with an open stance. Here's why we do that: When we hit a regular shot, out hips and shoulders are rotating through the shot and getting out of the way so our arms & hands can also get through. When we hit a chip shot, we do not rotate our hips or shoulders, but our arms & hands still need to be able to get through the shot, otherwise our shots will go to the right. So, we open our stance in order to clear our hips, which allows us to now hit through the shot and keep in on our target line. I often hear instructors tell beginners to open their stance, but they don't tell them WHY. Once they understand the WHY, they understand the shot better. Great video. Glad to see a young person with great teaching skills. Good luck and play well!

Logan, Got a 13 year old that responded better to your video than my in person lessons. This is the part of the game he struggles with the most. Well, that and putting. He can crush a drive and is solid with his irons. But get him 20 yards from the green and it all falls apart. The video helped him and helped me to understand what he's doing wrong. Heck, I didn't know their was a difference in a chip or pitch myself. Thanks, and do more videos. You can teach!

very concise and to the point, exactly what i need so i don't over- think it on the course. Chip = short air time Pitch = longer air time

I see a lot of videos but you have a direct style that gets to the point quickly and efficiently without too much fluff. I would have liked slow motion replays after each shot. You simplified this dilemma that most weekend players grapple with, chipping vs pitching. Thank you so much, I subscribed.🙌

Logan, Good work! Interesting comments! Chipping is clearly defined technique. Pitching you gave a good example, as any that know the game, there are many opinions about shots and technique. You cover good fundamental points.

During my last round I gave up about 8 strokes just hitting these two shots fat, behind the ball: "weight forward" is what I learned; and narrow stance; limited wrist. Thanks!

ball placed at the back of stance of the pitch shot so you can hit down onto the ball and make it fly upwards!
@Irwhodunit8 жыл бұрын
That works, I know. But the sentence would defy logic for somebody who doesn't play golf. Hitting DOWN to make something go UP just doesn't register. With Texas soil being so soggy (June 2016) hitting DOWN on a ball can mean bury in mud. Good video. Thanks.

Her: then you hit the sweet spot. 10% of all the shots pro makes are those type of shots. Ok, so I am at 5% now and this is my first lesson ever. 3 days later I played my first tournament and it was team play(4 players in a group and we took the best ball from the 4 of us. 9 holes and they took 7x my drive and played one hole(par 3) all by myself. 30 teams and we got tied for 4th. A week later she let me play on the course by myself...I love this game!
