I was there when they filmed both of those scenes. Right behind Shakey's Pizza at the corner of Sepulveda Bl. and Playa St. in Culver City. The alley doesn't exist anymore, but Shakey's is still there. The chain was made of plastic. The stuntman, despite being heavily padded on his back, ended up getting injured. He was secured by a wire that ran to a telephone pole behind him. Instead of the stunt going exactly as they had planned, the cord snapped and changed the way he was supposed to be pulled off of the bike. It must not have been too bad, though. No ambulance was called. My friend and I watched the whole thing. On a break we hung out on top of one of those walls that you see and rapped with Erik Estrada. He bragged to us about having had sex with Farrah Fawcett-Majors. My friend was 13 and I was 12. Hahahahahaha! I'll never forget that. I loved that show!

I do too. I was 4 in 1978 but I would like to be Jon's age and spend a week or two in 1978.

I remember seeing this episode, I always thought what an asshole that towjoe was for trying to take out the cops like that.
