To my knowledge, I think the USMC, the US army and several other armies across the globe use something similar to this game for scenario training. It's called VBS/VBS2 and it uses the same engine and is made by the same company. In fact, the ArmA series is actually a "watered down" version of VBS meant for the civilian market.

You can only sort of hear it in the video, but we heard an AT launcher go off just before DV2 stopped moving and everyone in DV1 immediately said some variation of "That was not a good noise."

When you can get stressed out just WATCHING a game, you know that it is amazing. Great footage Kilroy. You should know that ShackTac has all but completely replaced television for me, I am in love with watching all the scenarios you guys play through. How often do you play "non-traditional" game modes? The "Man's Best Friend" and "Professional Hostage Service" videos are by far my favorite ones you made, and I look forward to seeing more of their type. :D

In my opinion it's because he plays in an organised group for ArmA II and makes it look fun and inviting and not super serious Mil-Sim gameplay, I'd probly say Beagle, CHKilroy, Dyslexci, and the other members of ShackTac are credited for getting me back into ArmA II.

What do the dead players get to do? Just watch in guest mode, or do they get to switch to the Opfor force and make things more lively? I would hate to play and be killed without getting a chance to fight back like those guys in the Stryker that blew up on the first road.

I think if you die in ARMA 2 you're stuck as a spectator for the rest of the round. There might be a server-side option or plugin or something that lets you respawn, but as far as I know there's no respawning in ARMA 2.
