Very Helpful! I took powdered Chlorella 4 times weeks apart. Each time I was forced to vomit it up until it was all out of my stomach. I have never had this happen with any other supplements. I must be one of those people you mentioned, who are sensitive to it.

That happened to me with black seed oil after I had a couple of years of not living optimally healthy. The first 4 times I took it I violently vomited. Now I take it every day without a problem.

Hi - Great Video - lots of good points about chlorella - worth getting I think. FYI - I heard on a youtube video mention of using chlorella to support fasting. The point made was that the body stores heavy metals, poison, etc in the fat cells, and further that these toxins are released during fasting as part of fat metabolism. Then he mentioned that use of chlorella (and charcoal) helped trap toxins released by the fasting fat cells. This, combined with all of the many good points about chlorella that you made, have put chlorella on my shopping list ! Yay chlorella

So far I've found Vega Chlorella tablets the best tasting - I chew them. Most chlorella is ocean grown, but Vega last I checked is from Japan and grown in spring water ponds. An alternative, Energy Bits Chlorella is grown in the USA and sounds safer - as per interview with Dr. Gundry and Catharine CEO of EnergyBits. However......a warning on Chlorella......Catherine mentioned that Chlorella (often used for detox in combination with activated charcoal) identifies Lactic Acid as a toxin and my understanding is that Lactic Acid is beneficial to our gut microbiome NOT a toxin. I recall that Catharine said Chlorella would cause some loose stools.......I'm thinking of changing to Spirulina as a green supplement instead. Hope this helps. It has been almost a year since your comment......did you try Chlorella? kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpXKkn-dnNp-mdE&ab_channel=TheDr.GundryPodcast

Been taking chlorella for over 20 years now. Highly recommend it. If you want to improve the taste of the powder, you can of course add stevia extract to it, or even mix a bit of your coffee with it. I find that tends to take over the taste of the chlorella a significant amount. 👍

I have been told by top plant based clinical Doctors the B-12 has not been validated for human bioavailability and a mere analog at this point not a reliable source to date
@outofthedoldrums5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Actually, Chlorella has B12 with good bioavailability. Other algae like spirulina have what is called pseudo B12, which is not bioavailable. Here is a reference study and abstract: “vitamin B12-compounds from edible algae. Review article Watanabe F, et al. J Nutr Sci Vitaminol (Tokyo). 2002. Show full citation Abstract Substantial amounts of vitamin B12 were found in some edible algae (green and purple lavers) and algal health food (chlorella and spirulina tablets) using the Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. lactis ATCC7830 microbiological assay method. Corrinoid-compounds were purified and characterized from these algae to clarify the chemical properties and bioavailability of the algal vitamin B12. True vitamin B12 is the predominate cobamide of green and purple lavers and chlorella tablets. Feeding the purple laver to vitamin B12-deficient rats significantly improved the vitamin B12 status. The results suggest that algal vitamin B12 is a bioavailable source for mammals. Pseudovitamin B12 (an inactive corrinoid) predominated in the spirulina tablets, which are not suitable for use as a vitamin B12 source, especially for vegetarians. algal health food, bioavailability, cobalamin, edible algae, vitamin B12.”

if the person already has dementia, do you think chorella can fight against it?
@m.g.d47213 жыл бұрын
It can help because it’s anti inflammatory and dementia patients have some sort of inflammation of the brain as a result of “junk proteins.” My cousin took such great care of my uncle, his dad. He gave him super foods and this was one of them and my uncle would have conversations with us and remember lots at times. We noticed when my cousin would take cate of him compared to when he’d be taken care by others. Godspeed

Can it be taken in its most NATURAL FORM (like it originally grows)?

Like she said, it’s indigestible unless the cell wall is broken, so it would almost certainly be pointless to take it in its original form.

Oh and also. Is chlorella heat resistant?
@outofthedoldrums5 жыл бұрын
It depends on the strain of chlorella. Some strains can grow in extreme conditions - between 15 and 40 °C. Most chlorella humans consume has been pre-treated by high temperature, up to 100°C. So I would say it is pretty heat tolerant.

If wild-harvested or farmed in ocean waters, what of oceanic contamination as we find in most all the sea life? Of course, as a processed supplement we can only actually know what's in it by independent lab testing. As you indicated, the supplement makers are very "sloppy" as shown in many studies (if not every one).

Take it please. Chemo kills off good cells too, that’s why the body feels weak. Take it in small dosages with lemon water or green smoothie. My current batch of chlorella is dangerously high in iodine, so I microdose with pinches daily not using more than a gram a month I'd say.
@outofthedoldrums5 жыл бұрын
How do you know this?
@eelkeaptroot13935 жыл бұрын
Well, it says on the label 100g contains 680,7 mg of iodine which is 453800% RDI, which means only a gram a day would still contain more than 4000% of the RDI and I've heard overdosing iodine isn't too beneficial for the thyroid gland.
@outofthedoldrums5 жыл бұрын
Iodine content differs depending on the area where it was harvested from and poor easing methods. Preparing the Chlorella differently - like heating, pickling, can also decrease iodine bioavailability. For sure not good to have excess iodine if you have or are at risk for thyroid issues.
