Yes, I love chocolate salami. I was introduced to it by Portuguese friends. Cool how it’s well known and loved by many countries.

same here in Saudi Arabia but, we use cream rather than heavy cream .we called it the foil dessert because, we use it and not the parchment paper . we serve it with an Arabic coffee ^_^

mariadamedecoeur: I do it for my daughters now! :-))) Instead of chocolate, I use most of the times cocoa powder, and walnuts. I bake them before using, it gives it a better taste!

we do that in Estonia too! it's called "colourful dog" ("kirju koer"). usually condensed milk is used for added sweetness. here it very commonly includes cookies and chopped up pieces of marmalade candy - that gives it the "colourful" part :) it's not really associated with Christmas but more with children's birthday parties. but I will definitely make it for Christmas this year, that's a really good idea! thank you, Laura! your videos always bring a smile to my face :)

So I saw this video in the afternoon and made it by dinner! Used what I had in the pantry - almonds, rice crispy cereal and pretzels. Can't wait to eat it tomorrow! Thank you!

My family makes something similar to this called Biscuit Au Chocolat. It’s a French dessert, but Middle Eastern’s, as am I, make this around Christmas time as well. It’s delicious. The difference is that we use sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, cookie biscuits, and chocolate powder instead of chocolate chips. If we don’t use powder we melt the chocolate chips like you did.

made this and added a piece of mint dark chocolate to it. I've had this desert before but never this good. Definitely the recipe I will stick to plus the mint flavor. Amazing! Additionally coated mine with Nesquick coca powder instead of powdered sugar. Yum !!
