I ran the more physical oriented one with 252 Atk / 64 SpA / 192 Speed, w/Life Orb and Naive nature. It was amazing to clean up teams back in the day, it may not hold up as before nowadays but I love it, nonetheless.

Mixed Ttar and Mence in Adv are pretty rad. There's a lot of mixed things in early gens just due to move pool restrictions and no PSS (especially Gen 2 where everything is maxed) so you'll see some cool stuff like Focus Punch Charizard in ADV as well.

Qotd: I once played Claydol and Minor with Cosmic Power and Weakness Policy I had fun with it, but Knock off was everywhere which made it difficult for Claydol and Shell Smash Minor was a tad better thanks to the speed boost I'm pretty sure the alchemist Dr. Emvee could do a much better team

I had a set of Trick Room Stored Power Weakness Policy Claydol, with enough EVs to guarantee survival against a Specs Shadow Ball from Dragapult (dropped from SpA for that to work), Trick Room up and sweep/break. But that was on a time that Dracovish was on the tier, and it was not working because even Max HP/Def Claydol got ohko'd by Vish, so I dropped it. And you can go like, Stored Power/EQ/Ice Beam, maybe (although I would go for EP or Scorching Sands) for the theme of Mixed Attacker.

Favorite mixed attacker is probably Mega Diancie, moonblast with diamond storm. It was mostly my favorite because I loved using it in gen6 Battle Spot, one of my favorite pokemon designs and its mega stone was new at the time so I felt pretty cool being able to use it lol. Was very lucky to have a 31 speed hasty Diancie to use ingame. All these heat sets make me miss Pokemon Battle Revolution. The animations in that game were great, but more importantly it was the only way to "random battle" people in gen 4, on the DS games you always needed friend codes which were a bit tedious. PBR wifi battles were some of my favorite, spent sooo much time and so many nights awake on that game using so many unconventional sets like Curse Endure Custap Explosion Steelix, specs Honchkrow, specs Weavile, banded Raikou, sd Empoleon, some of my personal favorites like Minun or support Delcatty, or occa berry Natural Gift Scizor before it was meta in later generations, or specs Scizor with 60 power HP Fire, Silver Wind, Ominous Wind and Vacuum Wave lol. A fun part was that a lot of your PBR opponents were Japanese, who always brought a lot of their own fun sets or lesser used pokemon like Roselia I remember, Porygon 2, Volbeat and Illumise etc, and they always had interesting strategies to make them work. I noticed most of the other players I met were all OU "serious" teams, which was fun too, but gen 4 OU wasn't my favorite of all time. I remember one time I used a NFE team on PBR that I previously battled Xenon with in 2009. Had stuff like physical Murkrow, lead Voltorb with explosion, Staryu, scarf Quilava, banded Gabite and spdef Togetic and managed to get a couple of wins against typical DPPt OU/UU teams, most satisfying is when you played against someone using stuff like Darkrai and still won. Really miss that game even now. When they shut down gen 4 Wifi I was pretty sad. Had all the unlocks too for your trainer avatar.

It’s a Gen 1 only thing, but Kingler with swords dance, body slam, hyper beam, and crabhammer is an awesome mixed attacker that can even 1v1 Snorlax. In more recent gens I’d say Garchomp with fire blast is pretty neat

I suggested this in the last video and he actually did it! Was not expecting Hail, but it makes sense QOTD: I liked using Life Orb Freeze Dry Mamo in previous gens since it just needed a few SpAtt EVs for Freeze Dry to do work vs most bulky waters like Rotom-W. For this gen, Darts/Hex Pult is pretty cool so things like Volc don't set up for free.

I feel like bulk up + nasty plot is a waste lmao. In a mixed set like that you're better off dropping bulk up (also, you could come in on defog to get a defiant boost anyway) and using something more useful to take advantage of nasty plot, like heat wave (tho rocks would wall you) or focus blast

QOTD: Hydreigon This mon was a flying neuclear power plant that punches Chansey in the face with Super Power and smashes Clefables with Iron Tail or Flash Cannon. With base attack with 109 and base special attack at 125 it spams U-turn, Dark Pulse and STAB Draco Meteor (Which in gen 4 and 5 was base power 140, not 130.) Hyedreigon's main sets were Life Orb Roost, Choice Specs and Choise Scarf and it had no true counter Definitely one of my favorites.

@@paperking64 that was just a suggestion. Dropping a draco with a mostly physical attacker was better when dragon was only resisted by steel, and fire isn't as good offensive wise. V-create does horrifying amounts of damage already so I'm just saying I'd rather use another move. U-turn may be a good idea because looking at your other 3 moves, since HP ice doesn't exist, ground types are good switch ins, any garchomp can take a hit and destroy you back. Just saying

QOTD: Probably Zeraora. While it doesn't have much,what it has is amazing and I'm surprised Toxic isn't more common since any Ground type switches in 100% of the time except for Excadrill who's immune to Tox. And CC + Plasma Fists + Knock Off destroys all other Toxic immunes in OU, so I don't understand. MAKE IT HAPPEN EMVEE. Maybe even Protect to scout revenge kill attempts from Scarf Lando and Hydrei while also racking up Leftovers and Toxic damage. Even catches other physical checks like Tangrowth and Bulu which Grass Knot fails to hit. Think Keldeo from Gen 5 but Zeraora.

I've had mixed attack moxie salamence do quite a number on quite a few opponents. I give it enough special attack to get to 300. Give it max speed and throw the rest into physical attack. -draco meteor -fire blast -earthquake -Iron Tail Draco meteor is great for squishy targets and people that think they can switch in a physically defensive mon. Fire blast is for ferrathorn/Katana and other grass types. Earthquake breaks fire and steel types and iron tail destroys fairy types who switch in.
