Is he a scholer? Not all 3 sangams were from urrent madurai. 1st sangam was from south madurqi, whichbis under indian ocean now. I have a theory for the black peroid of the cholas from the 3rd-6th century. When budhism was spreading to south india it didnt come from north indian like this professor explains. In the 3rd century the JAFFNA kingdom of SRI LANKA today was called NAGA NADU according to greek maps of the time. These NAGAS of NAGA NADU were tamil speaking budhist who spread there kingdom to south india to places like present day NAGAPATTINAM. In the 6th century the NAGAS lost their kingdom and assimilated to the cholas culture and religon. The NAGAS already spoke tamil since it was a predominant language in the region(Thamilakam).
