Japan is probably the only country where you could eat solely convenience store food, and still eat like a king ! The goods are reasonably priced, and they have a wide range of food and other products. I'm serious about this, the Japanese convenience store is truly one of the wonders of the modern world ! This video brought a tear to my eye, I used to live in Japan and I really miss convenience stores.

A note from someone who lives in Japan: This is a bigger 7/11. There are smaller ones too. However, there are lots of Japanese convenient stores that are just like this 7/11 and there’s, like, one on every block in the more urban areas (especially around Tokyo). In Japan, convenient stores are actually convenient.

As Japanese move to America. There are pros and cons. Yes Japanese 7-11 is 15000 times better than American 7-11 without question. But at the same time, Japanese working environment is way worse than America. And it's connected to why Japanese 7-11 is really great. It's happened not some magics or something, Japanese people really sacrifice their lives for their jobs/works, that's why.

Having lived in Japan for years, and 7-11 being the nearest stop to my home, I have gone weeks at a time getting all of my meals from there. They have a great variety of ready-to-eat meals, and they have fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, and other ingredients for making meals. They even have the ingredients to bake cakes or cookies. Not only can I buy food at 7-11, I pay my bills there, buy concert and Disney tickets, send and receive packages, and some stores even have dry cleaning drop off and pickup. In Akasaka, 7 and I Holdings (the company which owns 7-11) has a 7-11 apartment building, which of course has a 7-11 on the first floor.

Here in the US a station that has all that is called a convenience store! But you have to think about how many offices there are, what the main occupation is for most people and the fact of how much time they have free daily! This is why you find everything someone in a rush to work or heading home would need! Just up in Tennessee near my home in Alabama many stations are called convenience stores and have many types of groceries, some produce, necessities like flour, sugar, bread, buns and some meats..etc available, since grocery stores are often 20+ mile drives from home, and not everybody drives or has a car, but the convenience store is often times just around the corner within walking distance!
