The editor note is 100%. DYKG recently translated an old interview. They're a panther, tiger, and lion. However, they were also designed with the characteristics of Chinese lion-dog statues in mind. So they are cats, but they're designed in the style of lion-dog statue, which is why there's confusion as to their dog-like traits.

Sceptile is a discount fast pokemon with poor power and limited movepool; and very easy to kill. If it was in a video like this I would pick meganium because it's a decent support and might at least paralyze Zamazenta or something. To be fair Zamazenta could outspeed and ohko sceptile easily :/

Gen 1 has some of the most recognizable cries imo, but the problem is that many of the cries are similar or exactly the same across different Pokémon (e.g. Hitmonlee and Tangela, or Arcanine and Machamp).

I know every legendary cry from gens 1-8, so the Mewtwo/Mew, Jirachi, Magearna, Zamazenta, Raikou, Azelf and Latios were immediately recognizable. Also, as a frequent Decidueye user in UltraSun, I'm very familiar with its cry and never thought of it the way you did. I used to think it sounded weird LOL.
