Kayla Belanger small public schools are often riddled with the most budget cuts, poorly funded and do little to encourage students to move on to college afterwards. Doesn’t mean all, I just know of a few that don’t even offer easy access to major courses do important stepping stone for even the most basic colleges and also they don’t offer access to the SAT test making it harder and less likely for students to seek out and find this test outside of school. Seeing as this test is vital and is sometimes even a requirement for community colleges after graduating from high school, it’s really bad.

When I was very young, my mom put me in private school, I didn't like it, I would always throw tantrums and wouldn't listen, and I didn't like it lol. My mom moved me to public schools because she ran out of money and once I got to middle school, I got a C in math and my mom wanted me to move to a private school to do better so yeah. My story. xD I'm 6th grade btw. :P EDIT: I totally agree with putting your children in private school because it has more higher expectations and it caters to your needs. Private schools also have strict rules and have strict discipline. So I recommend private school. :)

One thing that I loved about going to a public high school, was the Special Education program. That's also why I'm going to a public university as well; University of Tennessee Knoxville, Go Vols! In my area most private schools don't have special education programs. That's one reason why I prefer public schools.

Private schools are much better in my opinion because they for the most part, help keep your children from forming groups or gangs that do bad things or becoming part of the wrong crowd. Public schools are full of people who just don't care most of the time. I do not mean to offend, but I suggest if you have the money, to send your children to private schools.

Allon Emery I agree. I go to a private school too and before when I went to a public school, the kids there did not take anything seriously and treated everything as a joke. However by going to a private school, the school is so much more selective when accepting students. And I realized that my private school had a bigger campus and more club choices with less students than a public school. Definitely private schools are worth it.

Some public schools do offer more degree options, but I think you should take a look at a larger variety of public schools, because I know quite a few bad public schools that do not offer great options and have purposely cut chances for their students to further their education beyond high school.

My two cents. Private schools are much better if you then go to university, i.e., if you want to become an engineer, doctor, programmer, lawyer or work as some office clerk (even manager) in some corporation. That's because you would have more competitive environment in the subjects you need. You'll be more focused at what is essential: your SATs, APs, college credits (you can get that out of APs). It will make studying in college much easier so that you don't drop out after a couple of years of your college and you don't get overwhelmed with the amount of things to study. Colleges are not for parting as movies depict. People study hard there. Since most people are poorly prepared for college, there are a lot of drop-outs and not much time for anything else besides studying. This is wrong. Studying at college is not difficult if you are properly prepared. If you don't plan on going to university (not pursuing some STEM or a medical career), you might want to skip university and just get just community college education. In this case public schools are better. No need to strain yourself and waste money. I mean depending on your targets, you should not just waste time and money on expensive education if you don't need degrees and certificates while not planning to work in the field of your studies. Spare yourself money and time. If money is not the issue, then, yes, you can try various colleges and private schools for fun. As to education per se, you can get it all out college textbooks that are available on Amazon without ever going to any college :) Most college students don't have time to study books properly and professors have to cut back severely on material they teach, giving you primitive basics, just some superficial knowledge. *It is not the picture you imagine in your head, right? Life is not what is depicted in fiction books and movies.*

I've gone to various private schools most of my life and the less activities and religious implementations are COMPLETE BS. Even in high school we have plenty of activities, and breaks. At least a 40 minute break and one hour activity period of our choice every day except short days. (Includes video games, sports, music, painting, gardening, Board games, D&D, Warhammer, card based games and much more. No private school I've been to had a dress code requirement (except middle school but requirements were not terrible, just any polo shirt and almost any kind of pants.)) it could be the area I live in is completely different to others (yes I live in the states), but I assure you it's completely worth it.

My parents nor my step mom didn't sign this school but I'm sure that my counsellor who sign up for my behaviour issue(which is social behavoir). It doesn't have to be rich to go private because say like I'm upper-middle class, I'm not describing myself as "rich" or "snotty spoiled brat". I'm nothing like them I'm here for educational and act regular person. Private school might be better choice for me but I prefer public school more just why not.
