In the past, I used to shoot up to four different models with different calibers, 9mm and .45 cal, because I wanted to carry them. Today, I have carried and only shoot one model consistently for the last few years. Once in a while, I'll shoot two different guns just for fun. Thank you for putting out great contents.

Hey Paul, that "Guntuber Antifa" video was badass. Shame that it seems to have disappeared. When the military recruiters came to my very liberal high school circa 2014, they were basically speaking like Nancy Pelosi or something, so the conservative-minded guys (including myself) lost their excitement and were turned off from joining the military. "Don't Ask Don't Tell" was ended a few years prior, and boy did they love telling us that every time they came around. A lot of conservatives younger than 30 believe that this country may not be around within a couple of generations (or even sooner), and these videos help give us some tips for training, in the case that a less-than-peaceful scenario plays out in the near future. Thanks.
@thecsatway3622Ай бұрын
Thanks. We still have the video and it will be launched on another format shortly. The Military is an extension of politics, and they react accordingly. Our Country will be around as we have several generations of combat vets that are out there, laying low. More to follow.

I was carrying a compact sized gun (G19) for many years but switched to a full sized gun (VP9L). I keep it consistent for all my shooting. No switching guns. Might be boring, but I want my proficiency to be as high as possible with my chosen EDC.

Sir, fmr OGA/GB (gwot time frame) here and agree with ya - Glock 26 is my go-to for edc. Ease to conceal, used same mags as 19, 17 etc as well as holsters.
@Frank-uw5xqАй бұрын
19 or 26 are plenty light & concealable.. The loss in gun material isn't worth it, .real mags like you said, ect. ect.,..carry a 1911 for awhile... everything will feel light..43x is the " I'm not in a fight today probably" gun... good backup & better than nothing though

Well-done! I agree with your findings, regarding too-slim guns. I gave up on single-column-mag mini-nines, by the late Nineties. In addition, I perform better if the back strap extends all the way to the “heel bone” of my hand, especially with my gimpier right hand. (I write lefty, but throw right-handed. I chose to carry at 0300 40+ years ago, while attending the Houston PD police academy. In retirement, with age catching-up with me, I have not quite gotten to the point of having to transition to lefty “primary” carry.) My left hand is shaped slightly differently than my right hand, so, I may evaluate other pistol systems, but, tentatively, it looks like Glock will remain a good choice; the “orthopedic” G17 remaining a best tool for my right hand, and my healthier left hand being well-served by the G17, G19, and G26 grip sizes. There are other good brands, but, it taking thousands of rounds to become really hard-wired with a new pistol system, I will not switch without really good reason. Be safe and well!

I recently came to the same conclusion, but instead of a G19 and a G26, I have a CZ P10c as a "duty" gun and a P10s as a concealed carry gun. I am eyeing a G26 in the near future.

I'm a civilian and I edc a G19. It is a bit large. I was actually thinking about getting a Sig P365 X-Macro or just the normal macro cuz its 17 rounds in a size about the same as a G19 but much thinner and still quite shootable. I'd like to shoot it again before I decide but I'm leaning that way. Overall I'm definitely a Glock guy but the Sig Macro is a pretty cool design.

Many of us probably own a wide variety of weapons and we don’t need to be “EDC proficient” with all of them, just the ones that are truly EDC weapons. If you think you have several EDC weapons, narrow it down to the one you perform cold and under some stress with. That’s the one you should carry even if you don’t think that brand, etc. is your favorite. Narrow it down and use the one you are most-effective with. Good video 👍.

I also wanted to like the 43X, but the way Glock designed the shape of the trigger just kills my beat up trigger finger. The double stacks are a little easier. I like your well thought approach to deciding which one works best for you using solid shooting data to support reasons.

Good points. I shoot 200-600 rounds a month. I try to maintain proficiency on several guns I carry. Long guns, for the home, don't get much range time. I have Beretta PX4's (DA/SA) I sometimes carry, but usually are "stash" guns, carry S&W M&P's (SA), full size and Compact, my pocket gun is DA/SA, and I sometimes carry a revolver on my belt instead of an M&P. (DA) Reloading my ammo helps! None of these are 9x19.

Like I said in another video but I'm fairly new to actually carrying a pistol daily. I have found that a full size pistol, like the Springfield XD elite with the 4 1/4 inch barrel barrel is perfect for me. I have rather big hands and that full size grip feels better. The longer sight radius is good also.

Thanks for another great presentation! Any thoughts on a video regarding selection and testing of ammunition? School guardians may have different concerns than a rural private citizen, be it handgun or long gun.
@thecsatway3622Ай бұрын
I think we can make that happen. I know some horror stories of School Guardians not being able to use/test fire their issued frangible duty ammo as it has to be accounted for. They have never zeroed it or even made sure it functions.
@patrickaherne3598Ай бұрын
JM Kydex is the way. I've been buying holsters from Tony since he was in Reno. The 48 MOS is my problem. I've carried it for 3 years, but I shoot a 19 better, everytime. I have to work hard on the 48, even with a HS 507K, the 19 is just easier to get good hits, without the struggle.
@BlueJayWatersАй бұрын
This is exactly why I don't shoot glocks and will not use them. I simply have never fired a glock to a degree of accuracy I feel is competent enough for carry. The fact that its an uncomfortable firearm is a secondary reason. The grip angle and the trigger just do not work for me. So I stick to what I'm accurate with, hammer fired DA/SA pistols, and revolvers.
@Southernguitar74Ай бұрын
I thought I would prefer the G48 over the 43x, but as it turned out, I prefer the shorter sight radius of the 43x. Whatever works. Lots of good information in this video. Well thought out. Very professional. Thanks

I think you are correct. If you go with whatever works for you, you will be more consistent. I have optics on most of my rifles but keep one set up as an "iron." gun to get back to the basics with.

Geat topic! I wasnt sure about picking one up (43X). Ive been on the. fence. Ive held them, but something feels out of place for me. Ill have to guve the testing idea a try. Maybe Ill have my gunsmith come up with a 26 slide on a 19 lower.

I discovered years ago that i simply shoot better with a full-size carry gun. Switched from a G19 to a G17. Im curious if you notice better accuracy or times when you test standards with your 19 compared to your 26? Thanks for the videos.
@thecsatway3622Ай бұрын
I am a bit slower and need to practice more with my G19. The short sight radius of the 26 and a wider rear sight, allows a faster pick up for me.

Interested on your thoughts on the G43 vs G48. Have you tried the P365 family for a single stack option. I find the P365XL and Marco easier to work with the glock equivalents.

As a matter of fact, I shot one yesterday. It had a WC grip module which felt great. Only problem was trigger finger drag due to ergonomics and me. They are great platforms.
