if putting chopsticks on bowl is a signal of finished meal then where should you put them when you want to take a break from eating?

If you have a chopstick rest, it is good manners to use it. If you don't have one, you can use paper napkins as a chopstick rest instead.

I'm not a Japanese, rather a Chinese but I have no idea who does this stuff 💀 I feel that this is a general manners that people should already know.

i didnt know that having the shopsticks on top of a bowl means youre finished, even dough i did that automatically when im done. haha
