Man this video is so helpful. Any chance of going through the entire songs on a few of the tracks from La Sexorcisto? That would be killer! I Am Legend has to be one of my favourites. J is such an underrated guitar player. Oh and there’s an awesome La Sexorcisto round table interview with all the members minus Rob, marking 30 years since it’s release. It’s amazing man you should totally check it out. J finally has resurfaced!

Always watch your episodes even on bands I don't even like. You always point out that there's something to learn from everybody. You play with such style and accuracy it never fails to amaze me. Rock on you're the best!

David's a great teacher and yes! Every Lesson has musical value, even if it's featuring a musician whose material we wouldn't necessarily add to our record collections.

Hey Dave, just want to let you know you rock man. The amount of invaluable information you pack into these videos is incredible. I’m so glad to see bands you don’t often hear about featured and broken down such as Dokken, Ratt, Chicago (Terry Kath specifically) the list goes on. Do you think you could maybe do a chord play from the Allman brothers, specifically whenever Duane was alive? There’s some great tunes on their debut, Whipping Post, Every Hungry Women, the list goes on. Maybe some breakdowns from Melissa, Blue Sky, In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, and Statesboro Blues. Anyways, keep making these videos man, they’re killer and thank you once again

I can't thumbs this up enough and I have not even watched it yet. Jay was one of the greatest riff kings not named Iommi whose star was never as bright as it should have been. Not unlike Tony Bourge before him.

Rob Zombies best album by far ( La Sexorcisto ) From start to finish it’s great. I always wondered why that band fell apart cuz I never really liked much of his stuff after it
@maninthebox420m2 жыл бұрын
They hated each other. Rob mentions it on a talk show that they hated each other and toured 4 years straight and couldn't be around each other anymore. Rob had to have his own bus becus the rest of the band couldn't be around him.

Gooooood stuff. The drumer and the guitarist geled so well. Their drummer reminds me of Vinnie Paul... which is probably why both bands were 'groove'. I was thinking Suite Sister Mary before you said Queensryche. Odd those two share that chord.

Just wanted to take a second to personally thank you for your lesson. I always was a fan of J simply because of his style aaaaaannnndddd he played a Robin machete and you didn't see many of those at the time. My brother and I were addicted to the song I Am Legend so thank YOU so much for teaching me how to play that 30 years later🤘

you have a talent ,young man...nice to see your passion being shared. I never acheived the level that you have, even when playing longer than you have been alive. Not into heavy metal, but I did follow Frank Marino, as the guitarist to emmulate.. just wasn't happening... that man is a freak...and started as a drummer.... go figure.

It's not sexoristo. It's sexorCisto. Like Exorcist... Great lesson, J Yuenger is one of the most shockingly ignored guitar players ever. He made the Zombie sound.

I love your lessons David, big fan here from New Zealand. Tommy Victor (Prong) would definitely be a great Chord play episode to do: So underrated, and one of the few guitarists to really take an influence from 'Geordie' (guitarist for Killing Joke) and use a lot of drone-type ideas in a Metal context.
@billzade81582 жыл бұрын
Prong was a MAJOR influence on me in the 90's when I first started to learn to play guitar and bass. Same with White Zombie, Pantera, Metallica, and Alice in Chains.

Love J’s Rhythm playing .The J. Iceman is like a Mogwai to me . If I ever get the opportunity to buy one...... my fiancée knows potted meat and second mortgages be damned ! I got a spare kidney I could throw in as well , I can’t guarantee it’s condition lol . I had an IC300 and whenever people would see it they’d say oh Kiss right ? Nope White Zombie my dude. It might just be me but White Zombie > Rob Zombie. I am looking forward to the Munsters movie although .
@ShredForth3 жыл бұрын
I bought PS120 and removed all the Paul Stanley stuff so it looks like a black les Paul custom crossed with an iceman…. Plays and sounds killer and even though I like Kiss it was J, Daron Malakian and Paul Gilbert that introduced me to the Iceman.
@brandonjackson58653 жыл бұрын
@@ShredForth yeah I’ve thought about getting a Paul Stanley model and de blinging it . I think the holes left from that plate behind the bridge would drive me crazy though . I loved my IC300 besides the neck dive and not having individual volume controls .

@@brandonjackson5865 I put round stock in them and filled it/finished it. They’re gone. Got a black pick guard and truss rod cover cut then had the inlay with his name replaced with pearloid. That Starface riff reminds me a bit more of Whitesnake or Zeppelin. Kind of weird, but makes sense, as Rob likes to take a weird assemblage of pop culture and twist it on its head, so it’d make sense Jay would too.

So J had a blog from like the 2010's which he doesn't update. But he is on instagram now. I know that he produced an album from Fu Manchu. The Action is Go I think its called and he has done other production stuff. J. left the country like maybe 4 or 5 years ago and is living his best life in Barcelona. Also heard he quit playing guitar years ago from a reliable source.

Blur The Technicolor: I used to think the harmonic bit was some really complicated shit lol, only just realising how easy it is to play. This track, along with astro creep is not just timeless, but really epitomised the bombastic spirit of the 90s, filled to the brim with imagination and attitude.
