I’ve watched you rise, each time stronger than before. What you’ve given to bodybuilding goes beyond trophies and titles. You’ve inspired us with your strength, not just in muscle, but in heart. Through every competition, through every challenge, you taught us what it means to give everything for something you believe in. But more than the titles, more than the wins, it’s the moments where you’ve been human-where you’ve shown vulnerability-that have left the deepest mark. Watching you push past pain, past doubt, to stand on that stage with the same fire in your eyes has been nothing short of a gift. You've shown us that greatness isn't just about winning; it's about who you are when no one's watching, when it's hard to keep going. Now that you’ve decided to close this chapter, I can’t help but feel a bittersweet ache. It’s like watching the end of something beautiful-something that we all believed would go on forever. But what you leave behind is more than enough. Your legacy isn’t just in your victories but in the lives you’ve touched, the people you’ve inspired, and the hearts you’ve moved. Thank you, Chris, for everything for the battles you fought and the sacrifices you made. You’ve shown us that heroes don’t just stand on podiums; they live in the way they carry themselves, in the quiet strength they show when the world isn’t looking. You’ve given us that, and for that, we will always be grateful. You may be stepping away, but the impact you’ve made will never leave us. Thank you for being the champion we didn’t just want, but needed. ❤❤❤

@aarrynz9721 You're against the drug use or any of the other unhealthy practices in bodybuilding yet here you are, on a bodybuilding channel. 👍 It's okay to look up to people, even if they aren't the healthiest. And although they damage their bodies to look the way they do, it's the determination and perseverance they have that's inspiring. And they don't promote their bad drug related habits either. In fact, Chris has always voiced to compete naturally and not abuse your body with steroids. Watching Chris for the first time years ago is actually what inspired me to lose weight and workout and diet properly again. So meeting him was a literal dream. It doesn't matter to me honestly if he does or doesn't remember me. I don't need that sympathy. I'm just happy for that experience.

Hey Chris, thank you for everything man, you have set the standard and there’s no doubt about it, there has never been a bodybuilder like you who has such kindness, generosity and humbleness, I remember watching the 2020 Olympia show day video and just connecting with you instantly and I have been following every word and step by you since that day. I had tears in my eyes when you won your 3rd, 4th, 5th title and I had tears in my eyes when you won the 6th Title but as soon as you said that this was your last time on stage I started sobbing, because the influence you have had on me is like nothing else. I owe all of it to you, me entering the gym, falling in love with lifting weights and then falling in love with bodybuilding is all owed to you my brother. I have always looked at you as my elder brother talking to through videos. I have sent you countless dms but they seem like nothing now because I can’t actually thank you enough. I did create a video in your legacy not for the views or like or whatever but to let you know that you are a Legend, for me and millions of people. I could write a whole page on how you and your prep series got me through some of the darkest and most painful moments of my life battling chronic illness for the last 5 years. I could write so many things about how you’ve changed the game, changed the world with your impact and changed the lives of millions. I could write about what an example you are as a humanbeing and as a champion. But I’ll try to keep it short. The word legend gets thrown around a lot, but you’ve definetly earned it. You’ll forever be a legend of the sport. Your legacy will live on forever and I think that every winner coming after you will to some degree be compared to you - the greatest classic physique champion there ever will be. Not just because your physique, but more than anything the way you conduct yourself and show the good and the bad. Vulnerability. Humility. Genuine kindness. But also relentless work ethic, focus and determination to grow through obstacles and achieve your goals. Thank your for bringing us along on the journey. I can only hope I get to shake your hand and thank you in person one day. Wishing you and all your loved ones nothing but the best. Can’t wait to see what’s next for you. Can't believe Chris said the hard shit's not going to the gym and working out hard. I tell my family this all the time, 'hard work' ain't hard, anyone can do it, anyone can dig a hole and come home dirty, it's actually the easiest thing in the world. Don't tell yourself you have a hard job if it's physical or long hours because that AIN'T hard. What's hard is doing the things you really really don't want to do. Having those tough conversations, challenging yourself, taking risks, educating yourself, holding yourself to a standard for your family, that's real hard work and that's what brings all the rewards in life. Thanks Chris for being such a beautiful role model for positive masculinity.

You and Iain were the ones that got me hooked into bodybuilding, and it's now a bittersweet moment that you've both retired. You both were my favorite bodybuilders not just because of your physiques but because of how much of a role model you were and how you conducted yourselves, embodying positive qualities as men and handling yourselves with integrity and humility.

Bro, this final look back before heading backstage says more than a thousand words! It even gives me a bad feeling to see my idol retiring, but I'm immensely happy to have followed the story being written all these years! Besides, it's worth highlighting how beautiful this sport is, because this guy encouraged me to be resilient and to seek my best version every day, oblivious to everything that doesn't add up to the journey, all this without even knowing of my existence (and I'm not just talking about the gym). Not only that, he showed that family is the true support in adversity! Enjoy your retirement, daddy ♥️

What a ride! I started following you before #3, thank you for the inspiration, motivation and giving us a glimpse at what it takes to truly be one of the best athletes and humble humans on the face of this planet. A Barry Sanders jersey would have been more fitting this year. He walked away with so much left in the tank after years of insanely impressive performances, your presence on the stage will be missed. All the best in what is on that horizon for you and those you love, thank you Mr. Bumstead. 🙏

Congrats on not just being 6 time champion but also having the best perspective through it all. You've gotten me paying attention to bodybuilding again. I lost interest when it became all about mass and a couple years ago I heard about this guy named Chris and how he was dominating 'Classic' so I started paying attention and this year I was lucky to have found your channel and enjoy it with the almost 4 million subscribers. Congratulations on everything you've done and will be doing. =)

Thank you for inspiring me, and for years of motivating and repairing my mental state without even knowing it. You’ll never no how much positivity you’ve brought to mine and so many others lives. The example you’ve set. The drive you’ve given me. The hope. Nobody talks about how hard it is for a champion to put it up on the mantle and walk away when they’re still at their best and dominating. It’s arguably harder than winning itself. But if anyone has earned it, and is strong enough, mentally fortified enough and loved/supported enough, it’s you. Enjoy the mental and physical rest, and the time with that beautiful family. Truly the definition of a champion. Thank you for everything Chris ❤️🙌🏼

There’s been many a day I felt so discouraged about my fitness goals or just life in general, and you showing that an elite body builder is just a human being to taking it day by day is the greatest gift and message you could’ve possibly given me and other ppl, thank you so much. 🙏🏾 the 🐐
