Hailing from Canada, Chris Bumstead (AKA “CBUM”) has taken the fitness world by storm, becoming a five-time Mr. Olympia Classic Physique Champion. With his unmatched physique, unwavering dedication, and infectious enthusiasm, Chris has become a true icon of the sport. I imagine it’s a habit from being a psychologist as he would essentially be ‘interviewing’ his patients in a similar manner. It makes great sense as then you can actually ‘build’ on the interview and make ‘progress’ with the conversation not just go from one random topic to another.

@35:41 Jordan makes an excellent point about being nervous when you know you’re not the most nervous there. Perfect example. I work on the ambulance and it can get nerve racking sometimes. Wondering what event might happen or trying to stay mentally prepared. It’s hard. Yet, when we have a student riding out with us who is absolutely petrified, I notice I am at complete ease because now I have a different job to do, navigating them. 100% true statement from Jordan.

This is the second podcast I've watched with Dr. Peterson. What I enjoy most is seeing how genuinely interested Dr. Peterson is sharing experiences with his guests. As spectators and young people, take the time to really listen to the conversation. These behaviors and experiences are something we all can relate to. It's infectious watching how the conversation moves and evolves into the cause and effect of how we think and perceive as we relate to outside stimuli. Kudos to Dr. Peterson and his guests for providing real insight in bettering oneself.

Just thought about this myself: doing a podcast does come naturally to a person who has psychology degree and experience in a field where seeing patterns and listening are big part of career and patient success. Curiosity is a very necessary trait and passion for knowledge ofcourse as well. This makes the questions deeper and creates space where the guest can open up more. Stories that he himself shares have depth as well because of his personal experience and those of people he has treated.

That was so awesome! Really cool to see JP asking questions and trying to understand bodybuilding. And honestly I always liked CBum and thought he seemed like a cool guy, but I gained a lot of respect for him watching this. He's very clearly a really emotionally intelligent guy and is a great role model for young guys, and I thought it was so awesome how he was familiar with Jordan's content and used this as an opportunity to pick his brain. I have to finish the Derek video, but as a big fan of both guys this one hit different. It seemed like Jordan clicked with CBum really well to me and it was just overall a great conversation. Two great role models here, I hope a lot of young men are able to see this.

That's so true about being honest, especially when doing public speaking. A lot of people put on an 'act' when they speak publicly, but what I find, being a teacher, I just be honest. If something goes wrong or something unexpected arises, I let my students or whoever I'm speaking to publicly know about it and how it has affected whatever it is I'm speaking about or doing. Additionally, I always let my students know that I am human and if I do make a mistake, I encourage them to tell me about it as long as they are respectful.

I like the sound of his voice. I hear the lisp. But it’s not irritating. Its charming. He definitely doesn’t have anything to worry about. The best heroes in fiction have a noticeable flaw. But that flaw adds to his character. You could say it’s an asset.

Jordan, please interview Dorian Yates - the former 6x Mr Olympia from UK. Having followed your work over the years, I feel Dorian's life story has a lot of depth, and could make for a great interview spanning several aspects of his life ( losing a patriarch early, discovering purpose in a youth detention center, becoming world's #1 bodybuilder, post-retirement depression, reinventing himself late in life). I find Dorian to be one of the most honest, intelligent and articulate bodybuilder and I feel he would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you, too.

Maybe he's not interested. I've seen Yates on a podcast before, comes across as a bit narcissistic

Came here after the instagram post, reading all the negative comments on Peterson and his opinions... I gotta say, I don't know much about his other views but what he said during this interview is perfectly reasonable and good advice

I started becose of the problems whit my posture. I had pain in the neck and shoulders. For me was scary when pain started to go away. For so many years whithout knowing what was wrong i put diferent meanings for the pain and interpreted realy out of any meaning what was going on. Its funy it felt like panick atack but when i understood and memorized all the muscles on my body i begun to feel confident

Seen someone like Cbum been this open and vulnerable is refreshing. Specially when it comes to mental health and this hyper masculine that’s it’s been pushed, not saying it’s bad or good but this is something different to what male content is at rn. Good for Cbum

Dr. Peterson, you have my utmost respect and admiration, and I greatly thank you for doing what you do. Please, try to include more questions and talking of the guest of a podcast. That way an attendee can contribute more new ideas and new thoughts to the podcast, and produce more original tilt of conversation. I've been listening to Dr. Peterson for several years now and I believe my suggestion to be useful.
