What a great interview of a true ATG. I can tell the interviewer is genuinely knowledgeable, and that is oftentimes not the case. And Cheli, what can you say? A real guy.

As a born & raised Canadian I always respected the gritty rugged D-Man Chris Chelious & how long he lasted in pro hockey, I always thought it was cool that Cheli during the NHL lockout went down to the minors (AHL) Chicago Wolves & it wasn’t like he still had a lot to prove because he had already won 3 Stanley Cups & was in his mid to late 40’s already & he just wanted to play hockey because down in the AHL you don’t even make a quarter of the money an average NHLer would make. Star AHL Players make decent money like anywhere from $100,000 ~ $350,000.

@@sudsysutherland359 Didn't he play in the UHL during the lock-out? His AHL stint came much later.

I remember Chris coming out to the Saints Spectrum in Bridgeview to skate with us several times. He was a decent guy. A joy to have him skating him with us. He brought Belfor out to skate as well.

Willy was a great guy as well, ran the pro-shop upstairs, great friend to Chelios as well, skated and played there many times

6:02 That's right. Chelios got an assist in the second period (Dirk Graham scored) and then scored the game-winning goal and had a fight with Kelly Kisio in the third period. An eventful game, 64 shots, 98 PIMs, and the Blackhawks beat the Rangers 4-3 in regulation.

A great player....I mean Great! I actually sat feet away from him in an airport many years ago and even though I admired his skill, and recognized him immediately, I could not move the 10 feet and say hi! He was great....mean...perhaps a little (ok..really) dirty (Gordie Howiesh?) and polarizing. Honestly...being a Toronto boy...this guy was on the number 1 list of criminals (in my minds eye) during my younger days. I would have loved to have him play for us and everything would have changed. But a true Hall of Famer! grrrrr.

He owns a rooster and shares the same haircut. He also once threw a shoe at his grandmother for no reason. She never let him in the house again.
