Pretty much this. I was watching Bill Maher interview a Republican (I can't actually remember who...) a few nights ago, and all his questions were leading. "Don't you think Trump ____? Don't you think your party ____?" On top of that, he was constantly interrupting before the guy could get halfway through his answers. (OH! It was the Texan governer with the longest stretch of land on the border... sorry, don't know his name.) It was so *frustrating* to watch. Why ask questions if you don't care about the answers? If you want to make your show an echo chamber, just don't invite guests you don't agree with, otherwise, grow some balls and have the guts to listen to the opposite side and have a discussion. Trevor does amazing interviews because no matter who he brings on, he lets them talk. He asks questions that are open-ended, "What was going through your mind during____? How did you plan to handle ____? In what ways were you thinking of _____?" He asks specific questions and gets concise answers, and he's willing to have fun with his guests, even when they fundamentally disagree. Take heed, interviewers. This is how you do it right. :)

Apparently you and more of a Trump „I don’t read - ever!“ kind of person. How very American of you... I would be surprised if there was any serious journalist who doesn’t read the material to prepare for an interview of this format. It would be very embarrassing if that became public.

Trevor has a way of bringing out the best in people that I don't like. It reminds me of his interview with Lindsey Graham, who was completely different from the Lindsey Graham we normally see in the media. For a second, these interviews make you forget what these people are really like. Yes, they're smooth politicians, so they know what to say to manipulate voters, but Noah's interviews always seem to have a lot more substance than the usual interview. Makes me wonder what Trump would be like in an interview with Noah.

i litterally read your comment and said "oh god" out loud to him interviewing trump, i would LOVE to see that, but i dont think trump could handle the underhanded sarcasm small jabs, to get the truth out, that trevor would throw and trump would most likely go crazy like scream fake news or "we need a wall" and walk out lol!

He's definitely smart and funny. I don't agree with him on a lot, if any, political issues, but he'd definitely make a good commentator. Hell, even a right-wing late night show host, lol. @ResidentTarantino5 жыл бұрын
When he was on Colbert, I busted out in laughter for how fast he said "yes" to the question of "could you do a better job as president than Trump." tbh what's killing it for me is that a lot of these right-winged (and even left-winged) insiders doing these tours on late-night television is just to sell their books. It kinda feels like advertisement disguised as entertainment, but that's just probably me being cynical. I miss boring politics back when it wasn't used to bait people into clicks for viewership, ya know?
@ulganen5 жыл бұрын
@@ResidentTarantinoI'd say at least 95% of late night interviews and appearances are basically people trying to promote something or raise their political profile for some sort of office, I'm sure that's just a part of that industry
@ResidentTarantino5 жыл бұрын
I mean it's alright to promote stuff like books, television series, or live shows... it's just the political ones that bother me the most, the ones coming from ex White House officials and whatnot. I wonder if it had something to do with safety and receiving threats. I'd imagine he didn't get to spend a lot of time with his family while he was working, and/or if he did, he'd get public attacks/insults.
