Christie handled this very well. It shows you how far charm and likeability gets you in politics...it's a fact that Christie's an apologist for Trump, he's defending his corrupt GOP friends, and he's batting aside all these serious questions about how awful his own party is and how unbelievably bad Trump and his supporters are...but he's self-deprecating and funny and charming, so he just glides through this interview. It's impressive on his part and entertaining to watch, but at the same time it's disturbing that having a strong personality can paper over such huge political cracks.
@400medley
@400medley 3 жыл бұрын
It's especially disturbing in politics, but I'm disturbed by how having "personality" allows people to gloss over all kinds of severe weaknesses in all aspects of life. Seems especially true in America but maybe that's my own bias. We like "style over substance".

@Dragon Fox no, democrats are no pro war. Speaking for myself I object to a sudden total withdrawal. Doing this would ensure the deaths of thousands of innocents, mainly the Kurds, it would be a bloodbath for them since Turkey has indicated that would be the case. Just like when we suddenly left Viet Nam and thousands from the opposition were murdered. Trump could care less about anyone but himself and making more money. He listened to the dictator of Turkey asking him to get out of Syria so he could get rid of the Kurds. We would had lost many of our brave soldier's had not the Kurds assisting our military. So, you have it wrong, as a Democrat I am against war not against saving the life of those who have helped us.
@kayhawkins5925
@kayhawkins5925 5 жыл бұрын
@Dragon Fox yeah, tell our brave soldier's they are nothing but murderers. Bush started this war, Obama continued the war and it was Repugs dead against pulling out. Trump wanted to distract from all the investigations against him and he will throw up anything to distract. Both dems and Repugs do not want to jump ship at this point...and Trump gave in like he caves to everything. He is weak like most bullies just tweets tough little more. A five time draft dodger who thinks he knows more than the generals. Yeah, sure.
