Wow, it's really sad to hear that the show made him self-conscious about his voice. I always wondered if it gets to actors on a deeper level if their character is mocked for something that pertains to the actor outside of film/TV.

I read somewhere else that Cord Overstreet had the same thing happen with his mouth, after all the 'trouty mouth' jokes. That's something that's always bugged me when show's do that, they're basically insulting the actors as much as they are the characters.

MMFY I wouldn't be surprise if the actors were because a lot of the times, the "jokes" made on glee about the characters is about their physical appearance. Although I'm sure it's hard to avoid that but I feel that there are some ways to do it without it being too cruel. Especially Santana's rant to Kurt when he ruined her proposal to Santana, which everyone praised for it, I felt that's where it went to just plain rude and cruel. Santana didn't just insult Kurt in the scene, it was RIB insulting Chris Colfer. I guess that's where fans should step in to prove the actors are wonderful as they are. Like fans constantly reminding that Chris has a unique and beautiful voice

It definitely got to Cory Monteith when his character was mercilessly bullied for his weight. He came back after season 3 noticeably thinner. Poor man was already struggling enough without the writers giving him a complex about his weight. Whoever’s idea that was should be ashamed.

I always did hated that Rachel and Fin got all the solos and duets in Glee when they had so many talented voices in the cast. Chris's was always both my favorite character and voice, so I might be a little biased when I say he deserved so much better. I'm so glad he is being recognized by his writing.

I’ve loved the Land of Stories books for so long and realizing that the author isn’t even 30 yet and has been in 6 series tv show and was famous when he went to college and is hat is just so inspiring. I am a woman of a very certain age who read Klaine and Kurtbastian fanfiction. And of course, I own Chris' "The Land of Stories" audio books - they are amazing. The best thing is that you can follow how Chris develops as a writer and how he gets to know his characters better through each book. So no matter how old you are, please read TLOS. And in only a couple of days, this fanfiction fan will have her copy of "Stranger that Fanfiction" *happy dancing*.
