I find it hard to accept that Adele and Sam Smith won Oscars for their Bond themes, yet this song got nothing. In my opinion it is one of the best Bond themes ever and certainly the best of the Daniel Craig films (and probably Pierce Brosnan era as well).
@wheleerz5 жыл бұрын
Why Adele’s was totally deserving as Skyfall is probably the best Bond song of all time. But Sam Smiths song was meh. It didn’t really capture the 007 vibe that almost all previous songs did. The movie Spectre itself was not so great either imo. This song deserves a lot more credit than it got. And Casino Royale is my all time fave Bond movie!

Those are two very good songs on their own. But the mellow and sad tones clash with the action and excitement of James Bond and makes them look weak. But this work is very strong on its own and even stronger as a James Bond theme.

@@sophiaburrell1130 Do We hear, see, perceive the different aspects, types, connotations of "arm" and "Yourself"? Arms can be weapons of all types, guns, knives, munitions, also martial arts, body use, also body armor, and body strength, toughness, also the same in mental, emotional (as Vesper said to James as he was recovering: "You've got Your armor on again, You're not going to let me in" [A direct allusion to protection of the human emotion, mental, which JB placed back on after Vesper's death, continued into the next Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and SPECTRE, until he opened again later with his next meaningful relationship with Madeline Swan. Then "save" and "You"? Surely, save=>from difficulty, situations, danger, betrayal, etc., => no trust of others; You're on Your own. Again not real, for anyone, though sometimes there is no other person in a given situation. We actually saw JB get into many difficult situations though he could not save himself [had Vesper not bargained for him, JB would have died from body shock of injury or shot], somehow he survived or managed to use the situation to his benefit or find an advantage [oftentimes (in others of the series)]. He was poisoned, needed significant help from MI6 base, command for body monitor, tests and communication to save him, still Vesper was needed to help in the final electrical lead connection & heart defibrillator activation. Also Felix [CIA] friendship [throughout many JB episodes] has developed inter-working relationship. Not Alone, as We see in every episode. So, though with such a mindset, was it true for JB, actually? Then searched and found the man who had infiltrated to get Vesper, then protected, saved that woman from compromising her [Canadian] intelligence. Maybe the lesson is to know who to trust, and know We are not alone. Beyond the scope, presentation and portrayal is a very Real, never alone, and much more, We don't actually accomplish anything, only desire, want, choose the results, outcome, direction, achievement desired [extremely difficult to accept, recognize, perceive]. All actually exists from G-d/Almighty/Creator/Master of All. First We must recognize, acknowledge, accept His existence. Then gradually increase Our awareness, knowledge and connection. Sincerely

@@johnniesoesbee7015 Agreed, captures the plot and character, especially this version of James Bond. Excellent ! Sadly, though, if a person thinks, views, perceives, has this mindset, perception in life, it is just this James Bond fantasy story, not real, and though may seem good for this character or persona, would not actually be properly effective for an actual MI6, CIA, KGB, etc., intelligence agent. The movie version of the James Bond character is quite different than the one portrayed by Ian Fleming in his books, as are the actual plots and stories. Each are much more complicated, complex, compound. The movie versions are set to be more dramatic, capture the audience's attention, emotion, involvement, energy, anticipation, in an exciting, thrilling, entertaining way for the short time, length of the video play. However, these words, lyrics can be modified slightly to be more realistic, meaningful for each if Us. Already have some changes and shifts figured, though still needs more development. Sincerely Actually impressed by several of the fight scenes in this Casino Royale, as more realistic; the individuals are actually showing injuries, including the victor. @@locutus94 What do You think about Timothy Dalton? For me, certainly Sean Connery is the unique blend of masculine, dapper, debonair, power, strength, presence, intelligent, investigator Daniel Craig is a newer blend, different than the past, as are the plots, stories, age, style of video play. These are noticeably of higher quality action, suspense with drama than many previous series. Timothy Dalton has a unique blend to, with amis own combination of Male, masculine, dapper, debonair, yet strong, powerful, intelligent, intellectual, detective, investigator. "The Living Daylights" is clearly a step up in action, suspence film quality from the Roger Moore series, though a few have outstanding opening stunts [most notable skiing chase, jump off cliff into parachute]. The second, "License To Kill" was a noticeable high level action, suspense film quality, comparable to others outside Bond; Outstanding. Then the next series was a huge letdown, especially after the previous, add the high expectations of Pierce Brosnan, who definitely has his unique presence, suave, dapper, debonair, but his masculine, strength, power was less than Timothy though greater than Roger, also compromised (in my mindset) by his role in TV Remington Steele, perhaps from seeing his other film performances, that is simply him, his portrayal. Add the disappointing female M [Judi Dench is great actress], just switch remains poor and glad to see M return to Mallory, a male, quality actor with clear, obvious MI6 training. Nice addition of Tanner which exists in the books, though specifically missing from Casino Royale, having assistants. Goldeneye was particularly poor, in premise, plot, story, though some good aspects of twist of his "best friend" revealed as The Enemy, though some lacking of a better potential, Zena Onnatop was a well chosen Evil actress, reminiscent of the Evil side in "Never Say Never", yet different too. The potential of the Russian computer programmer who survived is better than results. Those issues occurred in each film. Bond also too often, easily is bested, shown weaknesses, from non-trained agents, other agents. The China Agent in "Tomorrow Never Dies", is consistently better than JB. In "The World Is Not Enough", the Evil woman is Great, bests Bond, M, until near the end with her deranged "boyfriend/captor". The nuclear physicist is poorly portrayed, acted though beautiful. That is the best of those four, to me certainly, especially with the actress described, plot, story, action, suspense, drama combination. Just the few aspects lacking including similar JB. The last "Die Another Day" has some excellent plot, story aspects, acting has some highlights, but extensive CGI, often poorly used, other typical issues of this series, some excellent tidbits too, like John Cleese. Far too much use of "machine gun" fire from JB, loosing his famous Walther PK, expert shooting. Having one Q from 2nd film, "From Russia With Love" through 20th "Die Another Day" was superb in actor, choice, consistency as was M from 1st-16th. After reading Ian Fleming's book, the character of James Bond is quite different, more human, compound, complex, perhaps more realistic. Thus viewing the Bond characters in film/movie/video comparatively becomes different. Timothy Dalton and Daniel Craig have portrayals much closer to the books, though still different, perhaps combination of previous as Daniel had stated he studied all actor portrayals and book characters. It still come down to the writers and working together with the chosen actor(s). In many ways Timothy Dalton has the best balance of character aspects and portrayal. As for JB presented by film/movies, Sean has the most unique position, great actor, portrayal, as intended. George Lazenby also was quite good, though some other aspects if that film were lacking. To me, "Thunderball" is the best action, suspense of the first series, Sean Connery. These recent [5] Daniel Craig series have brought the level of action, suspense up again, worthy on their own within the genre. Casino Royale is a great action, suspense, thriller. Quantum of Solace has one if not the best car chase scences, at the beginning, then switching into a very powerful Theme Song, which flows well from the opening scene, somewhat unusual for a Bond Theme song, but very effective. Skyfall and SPECTRE are unique on their own, flow from the intro/opening and into the storyline and plot. Let's see how the opening of "No Time To Die" will be, the flow into the film/movie/video play will be. More recent releases of additional "previews" and interviews, discussions with the actors indicates a much better plot, storyline, completing episode for Daniel Craig and not what many figured to be very "woke" & "feminist" as many complain about. Perhaps, the studio, producers, director and actors may have noted the significant objectionable comments and produced these additional releases accordingly, purposely. Sincerely

It's not really that much of a stretch as soon as someone mentions the name Chris Cornell though.

Best Theme song ever made for James Bond period. Very powerful. Even the movie intro captures this song perfectly. I'm shocked that this never won anything. Out of all the Bonds opening theme songs. This one has a very powerful message in it and what James bond Goes through all the time

I say, it's "Thee Best" Bond Song Ever Made! Sure, there's a few Great Bond songs, but, this has the theme Bond Needed. It has Balls! It's a load of Awesomeness, w/the confidence in the theme that Daniel Craig backs up w/his awesome job as the new Bond! This Song RAAAAWKS!!! Just Like Chris Cornell! I am so sad he has left us. RIP Chris Cornell! You R So Missed!!

I remember when Casino Royale first came out, this intro song really caught my attention that later I looked it up. I was 13 in 2006 and that was the first time I heard of Chris Cornell. Phenomenal.

Just watched Skyfall last friday. One of the greatest films ever made. Loved the artsy visual filming and cutting especially in the Shanghai shot. But that was only part of the greatness. As the uploader and maker of this lyrics video I have been following numberous of different topics discussed in the comments section for the past four years. The latest and the biggest topic seems to be what people think about Adele's Skyfall. Should I make another lyrics video of Skyfall? :) 700k plays^^ :D

This is an epic song tailored to the scheme of the 007 franchise story, rip Chris, you were denied honors and awards given to unworthy others. The lyrics speak volumes of the secret service agent.

hmm, i actually like the movie version better; maybe because it sounds clearer and his voice has more impact so to speak. Still awesome and one of my favorites, nontheless

I agree. The movie version sounds more professional and more impactful, but this is still good nonetheless.

Thank you for keeping and uploading the original edit of this song. It’s been redone in all of the recent videos and even in the movie itself and I don’t like it as much as this.
