Having worked for one of these companies whose customer service is fucked in the exact same way, I can tell you why everybody has these problems with every provider of everything: all their internal software is cobbled together by different third party developers and not directly made to work together, and half the information each of these developers have about all the other software their program is supposed to work in parallel with is either outdated by the time they get it or was somehow never correct in the first place, with no changelogs available to anyone. Then, the customer service agents are trained on how all this software is SUPPOSED to work, including all the shit they tell you like "you'll receive a text in the next 24 hours," with no way to confirm whether or not any of it is actually working correctly when they click the buttons. No documentation of known errors in these systems is available to any employee until A.it's going to be fixed in the near future, or B. it becomes too big of an issue on social media for them not to acknowledge. This is so that employees don't accidentally land the company in legal trouble by admitting something the company is playing dumb about while it affects customers. When you deal with an installation tech or someone in a retail store, these are almost always third party "vendors" who've been contracted to do the work, and they also have their own set of software that doesn't work together or with any of the company's software. When the IRL employees give you seemingly random answers, it's because there simply is no knowable answer due to this massive internal clusterfuck, and they're either estimating based on experience or just saying whatever will get them out of there, because they know that ultimately the phone agent will take the heat when you call back (since the store usually has no direct number and all contact with them is routed through central customer service). This knot of half-functional garbage software and misinformation occurred because everything was added piece by piece over decades, with new weird, unknowable conflicts arising every time they added a feature or updated anything. Every one of these companies needs to massively overhaul their entire internal support system, but they can't because that would essentially grind the entire operation to a halt.

I was just like “I wouldn’t recommend it since each box is 500-1000” and he lost it and then said he was really going to and I was just like “it’s your decision what you do but the boxes will be there in 3-5 days.” And just hung up 😁

The tactics you described is similar to what I went thru. I was a customer for over 20 years, not anymore. I was lied to by at least 3 agents on 3 phone calls. They sent a e-mail that if I wanted to continue getting my local tv stations that they needed to replace my equipment and there would not be a cost for the equipment and installation. The catch is two year equipment lease and 19.95 handling charge. I will post a vid this week end of what I went thru.
