or it tells you how desperate they were for a singer who the public had awareness of. And they looked like huge losers when he turned them down...a nobody from a tv show says no to a signed, established band with a radio hit lol....how embarrassing.!

I can’t believe Simon said no for his audition. When I listen to him performing back then, he already sounds like a professional singer. One of the best voices I’ve ever heard. And his songs just have so much emotion poured into them.
@waynemcneil7714 Жыл бұрын
Interesting that you said that. When I first witnessed his American Idol audition, I was thinking: this guy could do a triple-platinum album right now. I recognized his talent from jump. He should have definitely won that season. Instead, he got 4th place. 🤦♂️ Word.

@@_NaGa_koRnhe made daughtry become a stand alone star because of his critique
@Kr0N052 ай бұрын
@@_NaGa_koRn In the early years of American idol it was based on a combination of singing ability and looks. Simon knew that there weren't many bald-headed singers out there with a huge fan base, and so he was a sceptic. Even Chris going on The Mask kind of showed that Simon was right - Chris had the best voice (But the Fox had a little better stage presence and begged at the end...). But The Masked Singer really pushed Chris's voice (In his own words), and he is doing very good now; "Artificial" is going heavy.

I'm not digging his newer stuff though, the older stuff he put out was much better. Personally, I think his music needs to be heavier. Not metal, but have more of a 12 stones, absolution project, three days grace sound like the first song off his second record, "gone".

Season 5 was the first time I ever watched this show. I KNEW from the second I heard Chris sing this song that he was going to be a star at some point. His vocals were perfect, powerful, his emotional content was excellent. He Should have won without a doubt as he is to this day, the most successful Non Idol winner ever, and he's even more successful than all but a couple of Idol winners. I think that only Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have still outsold Chris in No.. of Albums, but he is catching up pretty fast and could eventually be the most successful idol contestant ever, which is even more impressive since he came in 4th in his year.
