- Steve is returning in his quantum suit with the Infinity Stones and Mjölnir in the third act of Secret Wars - When he tried to return the stones at the end of Endgame, he was unable to do so because the events of the Multiverse Saga were causing the timeline to collapse - This will be why he told Sam "I don't think I will" when Sam asked "do you want to tell me about it," because he didn't want to tell Sam about that time he met up with him in the future to save the multiverse before ultimately coming back to give him the shield. When Sam and Steve team up in Secret Wars will be the moment that Sam proves to Steve that he's worthy of the shield.

Chris Evans coming back as Nomad Steve Rogers makes the most sense. I remember a week before SDCC this year for the Deadpool & Wolverine press tour Kevin Feige specifically said Hugh Jackman coming back as Wolverine in D&W was the blueprint for other heroes coming back in the future until they’re 90. So “hopefully,” RDJ and Chris Evans stay on for past Secret Wars and continue into the Mutant Saga. I will say though it suck for Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson because he never got the chance to shine as Captain America on his own if Steve comes back in CA4 too

Chris Evans/Alternate "Captain America": I don't think this will be an "alternate". Since Cap when back to post-World War II to get with Peggy Carter (notice the cars in front of the house at the end of End Game...they are 1940's early 1950's cars) and also, What happened to his time suit? He kept that in the "closet" and used it a few times only after he put the stones back where and when they belonged. He very well could be jumping around in time as long as he does not interfere with the 616 timeline. I suggest watching Agents of SHIELD as they leapt through time. How? Because time was again "broken" in the future (past the "Blip") and because he had a time suit, allowing for bringing time travelers together, someone in the future could be telling Steve Rogers of the past (living in secret with Peggy) and so Steve goes on Nomad missions, to include going to see Sam Wilson. Also, Loki - God of Stories, could also be assisting Steve, bringing him to Battle World to help fight God Emperor Doom.

I grew up in the 2000s and I prefer the Captain Hydra stories more than the Nomad stories because as Captain Hydra he had rewritten memories and much more interesting reasons for going bad but I can also see why Nomad is a good idea because it stands out from the other characters and the “Captain” name is already being used by a lot of characters. I love Chris Evans as an actor and I hope they can make this story as different as possible from the main timeline. Personally I’d rather see all of the returning actors play variants as opposed to the characters that they originally played! I’m definitely looking forward to Brave New World regardless of if Chris Evans is still in the movie because the story itself sounds really good to me but if they did this right I would be super excited. Talk about an insanely dramatic situation. I hope at the very least that they make a good story for Chris Evans’ return to the MCU and they use his character well. Even though this isn’t my favorite idea, I’d like to give it a chance for him because of my long time respect for him as an actor.

I THINK THE TVA has something to do with it…. When they briefly mention about how they played with time in ep one of Loki… they were essentially allowed…maybe they can use that as a retcon moment where they are using/workign with Steve Rogers and what went down with Infnity/Endgame…. And it would attach the Russo brothers even further as it’s continuing their (hidden/easter egg?) narrative.

I still think this is going to be the original 616 Captain America as Nomad showing up at the end of Doomsday because he got lost in the multiverse trying to return the infinity stones as the multiverse starts to collapse, he’ll have Thor’s hammer and the stones. I also still think Captain Hydra will be in this movie on Doom’s team. I think all the OG Avengers will have duel roles and we’ll see good and bad versions of all of them either from 616 via multiverse shenanigans or as variants.

Just so everyone knows, I have just found out that if you look at the Captan America brave new world cast, Liv Tyler, and Tim Blake are coming back as Betty Ross and Dr. Stern. He doesn’t have to be a variant. After returning the infinity stones and returning to live with Peggy, he becomes Nomad so that he can fight in secret, eventually having time travel shenanigans and ultimately when he’s an old man, giving the shield to Sam. McCarthyism ,the Cold War, Civil Rights, knowing Hydra has infiltrated Shied, it would make sense that he’d be disillusioned with the U.S. and, being Steve, he’d become Nomad so he can continue to fight against injustice.
