Chris was the frontman in the Steeldrivers from 2007 to 2010, then left to raise his family and write songs. He has been a very successful writer including top songs for Adele, Thomas Rhett, Kenny Chesney, Sheryl Crow, George Strait, Josh Turner, Alison Krauss, Lee Ann Womack and others. Morgane convinced him to start doing songs for himself. Check out “Daddy Doesn’t Pray Anymore” as he wrote it in about 15 minutes. He was waiting on her to get ready for something and trying to hustle her along, so she told him to go away and write a song or something. He did and it’s worth a listen.

He had to have a song for his Dad's funeral, he was in a hurry and, she told him to go and do what he did best, write one! Took about 10 mins. Morgane said, how did you do that? Haha!

ETA: A lot of us older country fans grew up with rock and Southern rock with our friends and OG country from our parents. I was a 70s kid and had a brother ten years older than me who took me to all the concerts and listened to rock greats with me. When he got a senior trip to Vietnam, he left me all his albums to take care of till he came back. Everything from The Doors to CCR.
