Something I was told a long time ago is if you’re going for a meaty throw (or in general a throw), never assume it’s going to work so you can react faster to any escape attempts.

I highly recommend practicing shimmy spacing against Zangief since he has the longest reaching normal throw. Nothing hurts quite like getting the muscle memory down for a universal situation to then find out some characters are built different.

By training against Zangief, will the spacing work with the full rooster ?

@@patrickleyka1545 no problem. also, all normal throws have the same timing (30 total frames) so range is the only consideration when baiting them out

This format for drills is awesome, and super digestible. You make it really easy to understand how to set these drills up in training mode which is something I really appreciate! Hoping for more quick drills like this in the future.

I basically just find the extremely high mental stack to be fatiguing. Having to be ultra locked in to check drive rushes all the time makes it hard for me to get into the fighting game flow state and then sometimes I still get hit by a drive rush I'm anticipating which I find frustrating. Been playing Gran Blue fantasy vs which I don't find nearly as draining.

Good info for corner shimmy & DRC pressure. Glad you mentioned characters without a DP or throw loop. My main doesn't have them, though my sub does. 🙂 Got to silver 3 yesterday, but play far less than I'd like to (and play other fighters). Only had time for counter DI, AA & combos in training. 2-3 minutes is solid info of how much time to spend on each (after setting up wakeup & block reversal slots). Not sure I could get 10 in a row in ever, but can try to get at least a few. Impressive stuff. Thanks.

Hmmmm do you mean practicing your execution or practicing the different uses?
@mikey2235518 күн бұрын
@Chris_F Both really, execution and combo choice after the different responses from the opponent and also situations to use raw drive rush, when it’s less likely to get checked and options for mixups after etc. Thought it might be a good idea for a video and it’s something I don’t really use in my gameplay at the moment.
